ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Needs more context.

There’s foreigners. But then there’s foreigners.

We just need to make sure we end up with someone who adds value like gombau at Adelaide or littbarski rather than the Steve McMahon that Perth got. ??‍♂️
As both our owners are Poms.....its pretty likely any foreigner is going to be a Brit.

The important thing is to get this right because there have been some absolutely shite famous English Managers like Frank Lampard, Paul Ince and Tony Adams etc.

Obviously Ben Cahn is the perfect fit but if we are chasing a famous gimmick we need to be careful or we will end up with Usian Bolt as our Coach.

We really need this new coach signed and starting work like Monday next week. Under a month now till the league starts. Need as much time as possible for this coach to implement their style so we’re not behind the rest of the comp.
And I’m interested to know which staff will be kept, if it’s a foreign coach it’s likely they’ll want their own staff they know and trust. So who are the non negotiables when they arrive? Andy? The big bald guy with a beard who’s name always escapes me? New bloke Andres? Muller?

If it’s a domestic coach like Abbas I’d imagine no change in staff is needed. Just the academy u20s coach to assistant.

There’s the expensive option (foreign) or the smart domestic options that fit the criteria (Abbas or cahn ?)

There are plenty of good OS coaches available - many that play in a style that a lot of us would be happy with. The problem with many though would be working on a tight budget and using it as a badge of honour a la Monty.

Managers complaining about their lack of budget rather than using it to laud the exploits of their players just sends the wrong message to the players. If the manager has managed at high level, particularly in England, the chances of getting good value visa players will also be diminished as his contacts would undoubtedly have high wage demands.
