ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What a result. Did it the hard way but an emphatic way to round out the season. Could’ve been 6 or 7 too if not for some fantastic saves from Robinson. Stoked for big Dyl for the clean sheet. And Brandtman - just outrageous.

The boys were understandably flat last week after a number of them were in a pretty tough preseason camp all week with the A-League team, only returning home just before midnight on the Friday and having to drive down to edensor on the Saturday. Freshened up this week and by all reports with the focus and intensity shown at training, tonight’s result was in little doubt.

Absolutely deservedly staying up and next season looks bright - honestly believe the core of that squad can give the top half of the table a good shake.

Now onto Sunday and our u20s grand final against Rockdale - a chance to do the double after wrapping up back to back NPL 20s premierships.

Kick off 5.45 at Valentine Park if anybody wants to lend then some support. Not seen any mention of it being streamed.

Won't be easy, only pipped Rockdale to the premiership by beating them away last game of the season.

I wonder what’s the theory behind letting the churn be so high in the acadamy.

We are holding back on scholarship unless the talent is in a position required for the first team.

Or the Acadamy player has to show enough promise to be a sellable product before even reaching 1st team minutes like overseas models.

Would love an insight into the aims and vision of the system.

Got to admit it feels a bit counter productive. Not every player is going to be world class immediately and it's similar to what the Wanderers/City do and it's utterly stifled their development of talent.

Apart from an extremely exceptional few young players need time at each level to develop.

Offering less scholarships seems like a quick win to cut costs.

If scholarships are 20k each and you cut 5 you save 100k without lifting a finger.

Before everyone goes nuts, don't know what the exact numbers are but it is an easy illustration as an example.

Can see why those scholarships weren’t given now.

Can imagine the first cuts will be to the academy and the is bringing players in from around the country will probably stop.
