ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

National Youth League Fixtures and Mariners youth team discussion

Notwithstanding that their head coach (don't know if he is also the academy director you refer to) having justifiable personal reasons to be unsympathetic, there is also the matter of their precarious position on the table. It makes sense that they would be ruthless and hope we sent a weakened team down (in the end I think James Bayliss was the only one held back).

Hopefully Sutherland are less inclined to be cynical. Maybe we can sweeten things with the offer to go down there for a friendly later in the year or something.
Not referring to Christo, he’s not the kind that would refuse that request out of spite (which is what happened here). JB was held back due to concussion protocol.

Good shout on the sweetener, I like your thinking!

It’s such a petty thing to do in all honesty
The hardest thing is pitch availability too (no problem at WSW as they have 7 pitches) But Sutherlands synthetic is a highly used facility and if Sutherland do do us a favour it might mean it needs to be played midweek, if thats a positive or negative for them I'm not sure.

More referring to WSW’s refusal, you’re right it’s a little harder for Sutherland but surely they can move it earlier enough so our boys can make the GF or move it to Sunday.

Might be a bit hard to get an earlier kick off time - their youth are at home all day to Sydney FC - who already had their 1st Grade match moved to the Sunday in anticipation of making the A League GF. They have no games on Seymour Shaw on Sunday unless it is being used for local Association club games.

A lot of the youth goals lately have been in last 10 mins of half time or full time.

Probably from their youthfulness wearing down the opposition, unfortunately tonight they may not get that chance to wear them down.

If the original game wasn’t postponed would have had much better chance of taking all 3 points.

Goal straight from the Matt sim corner and well worked cut back for 2-0 manly
The boys haven’t done a whole lot wrong to be honest

These type of half game situations are strange and not enjoyable to experience.
