ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Academy is absolutely buzzing at the moment; talent coming through, first grade being promoted and juniors near the top of club championships despite playing less games to other clubs.

This is a far cry from a few years ago when we were near bottom of NPL2 and juniors were getting hammered.

It is no surprise that things changed when Ken came on board and brought good people around him. Ken is an amazing operator with so much passion for the game.

Some of the messaging coming out of club press releases and social media posts of late is very insulting to many in the academy who have contributed to this success. If you were to read these press releases and social media posts the success is all about Monty and Sergio. The latest is the Farrell messaging in the club saying that Farrell was developed under these. No mention that he was at the academy well before those two were around.

Anyway, this is a shout out to all the others in the academy making it hum over the last few years and thank you for your efforts, even if it doesn’t get acknowledged by the club’s public communication.

Let’s hope with all the changes at the club, the factors in which the academy is successful are recognised and encouraged, rather than just changing for change sake.
