Mrdja is a joke

Give mrdja 2 consecutive starts and some pressure off his back and he will deliver, he is a better player than matt Simon, he is just very low on confidence and trying to beat the world in the five minutes arnie is giving him!

We both know mcbreen has won the battle of the lanky strikers and mrdja has beaten kwas in the battle of the more skillful strikers, time for the two to start together

If GA give Mrdja 2 consecutive starts i would probably stop following the mariners altogether that's how much i hate him. How has Mrdja beaten Kwasnik in the battle for the most skillful striker? I didn't realize kicking the ball into your other leg and out was a skill mariners should sign me up I can do that great

Interesting arguments above regarding technique. I would go:

1. McBreen
2. Kwas
3. Mrdja
4. Simon

Although Kwas is a hard one. I think I've read it somewhere on this forum "he makes the hard things look simple and the simple things look hard".

Hmm for me kwas is painfully predictable, he doesn't use his body to feint defenders one way or the other, once he gets caught flat footed u know it's going to be tap left tap left TAP Right very effective in nswpl I'm sure but muscat and Moore would eat that shot for breakfast,

I'm not going to argue thy mrdja has proved he is better tub kwas, I just know he is from pedigree and history, can't tally one lol moment mrdja had as a summary of his ability, otherwise worm would never play for heart again after his own! I just have a feeling that mcbreen and mrdja would carve up

Why we still continue to give him game time?

He is the worst player i have ever seen.

Fair enough ever player has form slumps but really this is ridiculous.

Its time for GA to get a bit of common sense can drop him from the team completly give one of the youth strikers a go they have got to be better then Mrdja.

I swear he could not put it in to an empty net from the 6 yards out

In fact he didnt from six yards out And an empty net against FC last year
I will hold judgement til he gets atleast 30 on the pitch regularly

I ain't defending Mrdja though I do find it amusing the OP is named Matt-Simon. Matty is struggling as much as anyone in our team at the minute and I think he will see some time riding the bench until he regains some confidence.

I think it is a little early to write off Mrdja when he ain't getting much playing time. A few starts would tell us more IMO. I think his best work comes when he is starting not off the bench.

Thats what a player lacking confidence needs isn't it some time on the bench!?!?!?

The same arguments go around on all threads about shit performances but i guess we dont know how Mrjda will go until we try giving him more game time. Please just dont start Kwas and Mrdja in the same game unless we plan on throwing the game

I remember when Sash & Nil were the talk of the A-League and many suggested they get picked for the Socceroos .. Nil did ... took a huge swipe at a ball missed it and hurt his knee ... career over ... but once upon a time Nil was considered close to the A-Leagues best striker.......... OHH how times have changed...

GA has said whoever scores will play. All the others have started, its time for Mrjda to get his chance. (or his second...no third.....no wait, is it fourth?????)

As I've said in another thread give him a go, he will either fire or he will injure himself. We win either way.

The thing in Matty's favour is that he runs all game where as Mrjda will not. Question is do we need Matty burning himself out like that or taking a step back from the defensive duties to dedicate more energy to attack.

Waste of time. He will take at least 4 games before he stops running around like a headless chicken in defense and start scoring goals. Then he'll get injured for the rest of the season. Time to blood some new players IMO especially while the opposition is still working out how to handle Perez.

I think Mrdja will always score goals but he does look like he is trying too hard atm and lacking in confidence. I don't consider him a joke and we may yet be grateful to him later on in the year.

Given enough time to find form Nik will score plenty of goals....question is, how long is GA's patience? As an all round striker he is probably the best we have.

by watching Mrdja play I'm effectively paying for someone who consistently puts it 3 goals wide, and whinge badly whenever he misses or doesn't get what he wants, or loses the ball, because he is just that bad.
For the love of having a side play some QUALITY football, RELEASE HIM!!! and try something different and put a youth guy on. 10 bucks they may not score but they will play 100 times better than Mrdja, its like whenever he's on, we may as well be playing with a man down.
