Mrdja is a joke

Why we still continue to give him game time?

He is the worst player i have ever seen.

Fair enough ever player has form slumps but really this is ridiculous.

Its time for GA to get a bit of common sense can drop him from the team completly give one of the youth strikers a go they have got to be better then Mrdja.

I swear he could not put it in to an empty net from the 6 yards out

Agreed 100%.
Originally we thought we had depth in our strikers but after the Heart game we have two strikers ONLY and it is up to GA to somehow conjure up a replacement striker. Both Mrdja and Kwassie dont cut the mustard when push comes to shove in the dying stages of a game. You wouldnt bet your house on either of them to win a game for us.

Its time to give youth a go. They wouldnt do any worse than what was on offer last night. Matty Ryan is showing what can happen with youth so now it is time for the youth striker to be given a go also.

GA's reaction of throwing the empty drink bottle away in disgust when Mrdja stuffed again could be the catalyst of change. Here's hoping.

its hard to get any form when you get little game time. How many chances do you want to give matty he should have nailed atleast 2 against the hart or atleast got them on target. I agree about giving a youth striker a go but keep mrdja give him a start rest matty and drop kwassie.

Round 2 was the only match Nik has been given time to even work up a sweat, he came on at 71. The other matches he's come on at 90+2, 84, 85 & 84.
I believe this season will be the last for Nik, Kwassie & Doig at our club, but to expect Nik to do a Perez with so little game time is a bit harsh; in fact I don't doubt even Perez would be struggling to make an impact with so little time.
Compared to what Nik has been given, Kwassie has had start to 68, start to 60, on at 69 & on at 68. Yeah, he's done bugger all too, but at least he's had some time in which to do bugger all.
Remember at the end of last season when Lawrie finally decided to give Nik some decent game time, he scored 6 goals from 6 whole games plus a couple off the bench, 4 of those goals from the field including a double. In the same period of time, with more actual game time, Matty scored 3.
The point I'm making is that with consistent good game time last season, he delivered (when no-one else was don't forget). Can he do it again? Well, how will we know if he just gets 5 minutes a game. I agree with Krusty, start Nik next match with Matty on the splinter, see what he can do. He should get plenty of chances with Perez out there. If he's still crud, then piss him off and call up the youth.
It's no good having squad players as backups if they're too rusty to perform because of lack of game time.

One other thing to remember about Nik, he was the club's top scoring male in all games last season, only beaten by the women's striker whose name I can't remember.

We were rubbish last season if you don't remember.
He also got regular game time for Melbourne but was also rubbish there.
The only way I can see him consistently playing well, is if he's playing for his contract every single game. Not just the last 6 at the end of his last contract.

I went to every home match last season plus a couple of away matches, the rest I watched on TV and I do remember very well how crap we played. How is that comment relevant to what I was talking about?

I really can't be bothered to have another running battle with the "I-hate-Mrdja" brigade, life's too short.

TBF, you did post in a thread called "Mrdja is a joke". Not sure what you're expecting out of that.

lol
You're saying he was our best goal scorer last season. That's not a big thing considering how bad the rest of the team. He was the least bad player?

Give mrdja 2 consecutive starts and some pressure off his back and he will deliver, he is a better player than matt Simon, he is just very low on confidence and trying to beat the world in the five minutes arnie is giving him!

We both know mcbreen has won the battle of the lanky strikers and mrdja has beaten kwas in the battle of the more skillful strikers, time for the two to start together
