Move back to Bay 16

Everyone knows it. Bay 23 has been a failure this season other than the Coastie Boys starting up (thank christ we have some decent support again). Bay 23 was good at the start of the season in terms of numbers then people (including myself) realised its not worth it and move out of the sun cause there was no atmosphere and thought it was a waste of money at the time.

Is there any chance that next season the supporter bay can move back to Bay 16, the 'real' home of the Marinators/ Coastie Boys? I know a few people now who have said they miss Bay 16, bagging out the keeper etc. Even if the Coastie Boys (whoever is in the group reads this) move to the bottom of bay 16.

Im just asking what other people think. Its my option on how i see it atm.

It has been raised countless times.

We do not have the option to move back. The FFA has stuck us there. Even if we do move to bay 16...guarenteed they will make that reserved seating quick sharp.

The horse is dead. Do we have to beat the poor thing anymore?

If bay 16 was as close to the field as 23. Then I would consider it for a couple of seconds at least. Sun isn't that bad down the front.

I think Bay 23 is a move in the right direction. Having a roof over our heads is better for acoustics, the concern with numbers is more a visual issue IMO, as the change of Bay has coincided with the split between the Marinators and the Coastie Boys. On TV, most of the guys at the back are hidden under the roof. In time, as results change and more people come to the games, there will be a flow-on to our bay again. When we're getting the sort of crowds we were the season we won the Premiership, you'll see that being in Bay 23 was the best thing.

Can I remind you of your original post?

Supporters: have been relegated to the worst area to watch the game
from, the Marinators were dominant behind the goals, so now moved to an
obscure spot with the sun in our eyes, to make it harder to see.

the death of the spirit and the atmosphere in bay 16 occured when the FFA made it reserved seating.

but if you dont like bay 23, move back. 16 is GA again, shame the performance of the team means we wont crack 6000 next week.

it's possible we will crack 6000, they bring heaps of support from scumsville and us coasties love Derby Day/Night.. just a little over 6

Yes. I am just going to give up. And like, let them stone me to death. Or whatever.

*rolls eyes*

I am stating facts. Moving to Bay 23 was a decision made for various reasons. And reasons I like.

1. Its closer to the bar (regardless of the fact some little c**tflap knocked over my beer on purpose. Sorry, Beers. It was a tray of 4....flapface).

2. Roof = YAY FOR LESS RAIN! And as LiverpoolMariners mentioned, better for acoustics.

3. Obviously so the supporters are shown on TV, is a great visual for FOX Sports, so I can see why this is one of the big reasons for it.

I'm not going to blame the number of a bay for the lack of supporters and noise and crowd numbers. Thats just silly. Its up to people to MAKE the atmosphere. Be passionate, supportive, cheer, laugh, sing, bang a drum, whatever. Atmosphere doesn't just appear out of nowhere. So I say quit the whinging and be a part of the change and look toward a positive step forward in the 10/11 season for the Yellow :)

It was her mums letter wasn't it?

I like the "with the sun in our eyes".

This person must be near us on game day, maybe they could come talk to us about it.

Oh, and Bay 16 isn't the home of the Coastie Boys. The "unofficial/official" group didn't form until this season. So technically, Bay 23 is the home for them.

Was not taking the piss, if thats what you think. Its just hard to say a group 'formed' without being official, although they are not really official...so yeah.

The roof doesn't really mean much when the only people singing are up the front anyway....

Sat in bay 19 a couple of times and couldn't hear a word from the row-and-a-half of marinators up the back.  I don't think we can say it's a 'step in the right direction' of 90% of the bay that was supposed to move have just dispersed and are now watching the game quietly.

I do agree that the FFA's reserve police has been an absolute killer, but it's hardly the only problem.
