ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Thoughts or news on the NZ-born players who have represented foreign countries at age-group level and are now eligible to play for the All Whites due to the change in FIFA regulations????
(i.e. Rory Fallon of Plymouth Argyle, Michael McGlinchey- ex-Celtic, Winston Reid- Danish age-group international, Tommy Smith- Ipswich Town and England age-group international).

Some sites where you can read about McGlinchey's trial game for Central Coast Mariners on the weekend. Coach Laurie McKinna seemed suitably impressed:
www.ccmariners.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=28252

"(Scottish trialist Michael McGlinchey) is here for another week and we were quite happy with him. I dont think he spilled up the ball once, he was very tidy. Hed only done a weeks pre-season before he got here so Im sure hell get better. Its always good to get the ball and make things happen in midfield, so we were quite happy with him," McKinna said.

McGlinchey is also the subject of a headline story on the Asian Football Confederation website:
www.the-afc.com/en/news-centre/member-association-news/302-australia/24837-mcglinchey-impresses-mariners-mckinna

See report on McGlinchey arriving for Mariners trial at: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/107829,mcglincheys-creative-hope-for-mariners.aspx

Also see the Toronto FC of Major League Soccer fans' site for comprehensive fans' opinions as they have been following MCGlinchey's trials up to now at Central Coast. They were impressed when he trialled at Toronto earlier this year and disappointed when their club didn't sign him, apparently due to red tape. They are still following his recent trials:

Also see Celltic fans' website for opinion and career details:

And finally the Dunfermline fans' site where he last played first team football on loan from Celtic:

Anyone seen any news on whether Rory Fallon has decided to commit to NZ yet?

I think Lawries just keeping all his options open. How many spots left to fill... is it 2 or 3? I'm sure McGlinchley will sign then it is just a question of looking at all the guys currently on offer and making a decision. This years squad looks pretty good, plenty of competition for places.

How many foreigner spots available though? We have signed Doig and Travis and now looking at McGlinchey and Wales. Also does Hutchinson now qualify as a foreigner now he plays for another country (I know, I know, go to my room....... ;D)
