It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Membership Feedback

Hi Everyone,

We are looking to send out a survey to our Members shortly, however in the mean time would like to open up a discussion for Members and Non-Members. I am hoping to get some feedback in regards to Central Coast Mariners Memberships... in specific:

Members
* How did you find the sign up process? Was it easy? Were there too many steps? Was there enough information?
* Pricing - Too expensive? Would you be willing to pay more if you were given more benefits?
* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?
* Members Benefits - This is one thing we are looking to improve for Season 10. What kind of benefits do you enjoy as a Member? What kind of benefits would you like to see?

Non-Members
* Have you been a Member in the past?
* What has stopped you from purchasing a Membership/What would entice you to purchase one?
* If you live too far away from the stadium to attend, what kind of benefits would you like to see in a Supporter Membership?

If you don't want to put your response publically, you're more than welcome to email me at fanfeedback@ccmariners.com.au

Thank you so much :)

Re-newing was as simple as ever.

I'm a platunim member, pricing is fine. If you want to offer more benefits make it an optional extra. Looking at all the packages they are all reasonably priced but a cheaper membership package is always going to attract more people. I've heard people suggest there whould be another ticket class for the corners of the stadium sold much cheaper than GA to attract more families?

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?

The hats are good, the seat cushions last season were good, the scarves though are shite and I'd rather not having them.. I buy a new scarf each year and the idea of a member scarf was cool but it is a shit scarf..

Other than having my own seat and getting into the games.. I don't have any in mind.. Discount on food and drinks at the stadium, but i know you can't do that.. :(

^ Thanks iEatHands, I appreciate the feedback :)

We had looked at offering something for the "Sunny Side" to attract more people into that area. Do you think people would be happy to pay a cheaper price to sit in the sun?

Easy, quick, all good.

* Pricing - Too expensive? Would you be willing to pay more if you were given more benefits?
It's not too expensive (especially noting that it was the same in 2008/9), but I'm not sure what other benefits there might be.

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?
I like the scarf. It's longer than the last nylon one which is good, and it's not as hot as the 'winter weight' ones (which is good, as this is a summer comp). I never use the lanyard but I know plenty do.

* Members Benefits - This is one thing we are looking to improve for Season 10. What kind of benefits do you enjoy as a Member? What kind of benefits would you like to see?
Honestly, I buy the season ticket and that's about it. I'm all ears, but being a member from out of town, it's sorta hard for the club to craft benefits that suit me in particular, so I'm not particularly fussy.

Public transport included in the ticket would be the big one I suppose, particularly because instead of driving, I'd be more inclined to catch the train up and enjoy *hic* the game.

The website sign on page was initially poorly designed, but was quickly fixed. Once fixed the process was seamless.

* Pricing - Too expensive? Would you be willing to pay more if you were given more benefits?
Pricing was fine. Best not complicate things with 'benefits' that may suit some and not others. Open to new initiatives though.

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?
The Yellow Army/Bay 16 summer weight scarf was great. Perfect for the season. But would only need one every few years. No interest in the lanyards or seat cushions. Fixures 'credit card' is very handy - less destructable than a cardboard one. I like anything useful, such as the pen. Happy to skip hats though, especially the American trucker style caps - hate them. You can buy them at the store anyway.

* Members Benefits - This is one thing we are looking to improve for Season 10. What kind of benefits do you enjoy as a Member? What kind of benefits would you like to see?
I'm a believer in loyalty being rewarded. There is reward in the discounted ticket price for members, of course. But maybe something for those members who have signed up for multiple years should get recognised in some way. For example, a member who accumulates 5 seasons gets to go in the 'beach area' for a game, or gets a free drink, etc. Would happily trade benefits for a settled competitive squad though! Not directly member related, but you should seriously look at the food for sale at the ground if you get control of that. The choice is abysmal.

True that. I was hoping to have a nice kale and quinoa salad the other day and was sorely disappointed. Will nobody think of the food snobs?

No Problems here the process worked well.

* Pricing - Too expensive? Would you be willing to pay more if you were given more benefits?
No not expensive, I took advantage of payment scheme & it worked well for by budget.
Really would depend on the "More Benefit" you had in mind.

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?

Okay nothing special here. I would love to see different supporters logos for cars, i.e. different sizes & messages for us to show our support.

* Members Benefits - This is one thing we are looking to improve for Season 10. What kind of benefits do you enjoy as a Member? What kind of benefits would you like to see?
1. G.A. Membership includes chance to be upgraded to better seats when stadium is not full.
2. A members package that includes ACL games.
3. More benefits for ongoing members.

Easy even for me.

Good price very balanced with value for money. What other benefits?

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?
Merchandise was ok, no problems there.

I`d like to see 1) A membership prize draw at home matches

2) Membership to include membership of Club Tuggerah & a promotion of away games large screen at the Club.
3) A membership contest at half time (penalty shoot or something)
4) Give aways at the gate to members & Mariner`s supporters only.
5) Discounts where possible ie. sponsors
6) Upgrades to better seats where possible
7) Loyalty benefits for 5years or more ie. go into the draw for a seat in the corporate boxes in the eastern stand which are rarely used
8) A discount say 10% for bring -a -friend when all free passes have been exhausted by a member
9) Members pre-game functions in Kendall Bar ie. Guest speakers as done in the past.
Just some ideas to think about.
10) A pre-game meeting place in the ground for the Yellow Army/ Member`s & friends to have a drink & to sing a few songs /practice new
songs prior to the game etc

Website process is pretty poor for a renewal from a user experience side of things, gave up called the office and Ann was fantastic.

* Pricing - Too expensive? Would you be willing to pay more if you were given more benefits?
Pricing is fine, especially the kids tickets

* Membership Packs - What did you think of the merchandise? Would you be willing to pay less and opt out of receiving a scarf/hat etc?
Not overly concerned either way re scarf etc. There should be a way to purchase merchandise such as a shirt and include it with your membership though.

* Members Benefits - This is one thing we are looking to improve for Season 10. What kind of benefits do you enjoy as a Member? What kind of benefits would you like to see?
There should be a way for members to get early access or even have allocated seating available for GA members for at least the WSW Game.
Not sure why there were limitations placed on the bring a friend passes this year, the games that were restricted are the ones you are more likely to be able to get new supporters too so seamed to defeat the purpose of the passes.
GA Bays on Western side could be allocated as Member Only GA Bays

Don't dis kale! It's the main ingredient in borecole, which any Dutchman worth his salt herring will tell you is fantastic.
Borecole is fantastic, with the rookwurst and spek..mmmmmm.

Thanks so much everyone for the replies so far! They are greatly appreciated and I'm compiling all of them for discussion next week. Keep 'em coming!

Are there any benefits from other Memberships you may hold (NRL, AFL...even another HAL club, I won't judge ;) haha) that you think are great, and worth your money?

The members only shirt seemed to generate some excitement this season. Maybe you could have something similar every season?
Perhaps a shirt design competition for members only or something. That would be fun.

Non-Members
* Have you been a Member in the past?
No

* What has stopped you from purchasing a Membership/What would entice you to purchase one?
No value. For your $30 all you get is a card and a fridge magnet.

* If you live too far away from the stadium to attend, what kind of benefits would you like to see in a Supporter Membership?
If I was creating the Non-ticketed/interstate package I would have
- Mariners Member Card, Member Sticker and 2013/14 Season Fixture Card
- Weekly e-newsletter during the season
- 20% discount on all Mariners merchandise
- Priority access to Mariners Finals tickets (This is the main one for me, If you live in Melbourne (for example) and we have an away final down there, I'd want to be able to sit with like minded, mariners fans and not have to sit with fair-weather Victory fans. I was very tempted this year to purchase a 3-game membership ticket for $50 just for the Finals tickets despite the fact that I had no intention of travelling to the Central Coast all regular season.

I would still have the price at $30. I understand I have added 2 extra components but both of them are incentives to spend more with the club. The merchandise discount would certainly entice me to get up on my lazy backside and upgrade from my V1 home shirt!

Also, going in to Season 10, I would really like to see people who have been members for all 10 season or people who have been to 100 home games (not sure how you could get people to prove that) to be rewarded really well. Be really generous to them next season to make sure they stick around for the next 10-25 years.

Everyone you are asking here is already a follower in some way or another. Don't you think you should get out and ask people that don't currently follow or come to games. Go to shopping Centres locally etc, or ask CCF to send out a survey to their 13000 registered players and get their families etc to complete. That would hit nearly 25000 people locally.

Loved the payment plan - Worked great although was a little confussed on the time period on why not say 12 months to lower the monthly amount or spread out to cover the whole season to lower the costs. Mine was I think start of season to December maybe 3 or 4 months can't remember. When you buy more than 1 the cost escalates & it's nice to spread out the damage.

Members rewards. Wombat is forever bring people to the game for everyone's benefit. Not saying he wants any recognition but say a target of say 10 people for a sauce pack & 20+ for a Mariners T-Shirt Etc.
So he would ring the club & the booking would be attached to him some how. Then maybe the person who gets the most for the year gets a game shirt from the player of their choice or to maybe do the coin toss or gets to go into the sheds after a game or sit on the side line with the team etc or something that can't be financially bought but gives reward for effort.

Price is pretty accurate I feel - We always want more for less but it's not at a point where it put me off.

Members guest card to include all games - None have sold out so no need to restrict.

More sponsor give away to members like master foods pack. That looks a beauty.

Process was easy - looked up categories on website - Rang office & booked

Love the scarf - Definitely a good summer one - Totally with Dibo here don't want a winter scarf in 30+ weather. Use the lanyard every time & use the hat but would buy it if it was an option & the tickets were an option on their own.

Can I light the cannon?
