ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Member forum 2 Feb... and Gold/Platinum seating changes

Not sure what the benefit of saying "VL is shit and will shaft everyone" or something like that would have been? Even now, we still have to work with them.
So nothing but positive vibes then random emails and a fan forum where the true reason for holding it was last to be disclosed. Perhaps mention that members will be impacted no matter what happens would be better than surprise and trying to hide what has really happened. The club will be impacted by this I have no doubt.

So at this stage for the extra money you get

1) NRL Pre-Season Challenge Double Headers (Fri 10 & Fri 17-Feb)
2) Cup of Nations Double Header (Thu 16-Feb)
3) NRL Round 14 Premiership Match – Roosters v Bulldogs (Sun 4-Jun)

So for me I'd be interested one event that starts way before I finish work.

The model will be more members than seats as well so it’s first in first served. Just like any other stadium membership. Apparently some kind of members bar as well. Not sure where this will be.
At $750 and stuff all to watch I think they will be lucky to get 200 members. When you then piss off patrons to your major tenant it does seems to be a really strange way of doing business.

Based on the comments in this thread there's no way there will be more stadium members than seats.
I'm affected but no way am I paying for a stadium membership. It will either be GA or the TV next season.

The club went through multiple alternatives with Venues Live but this was the least worst outcome.
Unfortunately, it’s not like the club can outright say to VL “no, you can’t do what you want with the stadium that you manage”.

This. Obviously this. Thank god you can hand out the odd informed fire extinguisher around here Pete.

As if Shaun and Richard would have thought this was a good idea and be happy about it. They'd have to be bonkers. But if you run our club, you have no choice but to try and work with what's thrown at you.

Cool heads and perspective required.

This sucks. No arguments here. So by all means, let's all be pissed at Venues Live and or pissed at Central Coast council. But unless you're privy to some serious information that others aren't, it makes zero sense to start screaming at the club and getting our pitch forks out. Except for FFC, he sleeps with his under his pillow anyway. And Ancient if FFC was "right all along" by my count the club would have gone under three thousand, four hundred and sixty five times. (per year).

Recap, what we've actually been seeing is a lot of of hard work and investment coming out of this administration that is paying real dividends... our best season since our hey day, and look at the culture in and around the club right now. Crowds building. team happy, successful... etc etc etc...

So turning on the club over something obviously out of their control right now is just bonkers.

It does however look like we've been screwed over by yet another greedy corporation because council has repeatedly refused to give a shit about it's only true tenant. And I think any member losing long term seats have every right to be furious. I also think the club should do whatever they can to compensate those members moving forward. Presumably this will be foremost on the agenda for the forum. Which is actually another sign of good governance. Not poor governance. Also empty banks of central seating always absolutely galls me. Which is what we'll now get.

But how do you stop VL from executing their business plan when council has given them the rights?

Also while I'm here, have no issue with Richard reaching out to the stakeholders about the financial struggles and saying we need to get to 8k. All he's asked is do what you can to get new people to games and if you have business consider sponsorship. Big deal.

I have no issue with this at all. I do think we need some tools to help achieve this, but it's hardly something we should be pissed at him for. Where has the charity gone in our society? Everyone is always assuming the absolute worst possible motives of each other. It's exhausting and self defeating.

Really are damned if you do, damned if you don't sometimes.

As someone who is about to lose their seat, I have every right to be pissed about the way that the club has handled this situation.

Of course when it comes to the stadium situation I want the best outcome for the club, however they would have known well before this point that relinquishing bays was a possibility and should have prepared options and put them before the affected members ahead of time.

Telling people one week before a forum that's announced with virtually no notice they'll lose their seats, and saying we'll provide more information at a forum that is open to everybody yet nobody will be able to attend is the opposite of good governance. Richard absolutely needs to do better to keep the members that have stuck around through the lean years.

I don't know about you guys but I go to see the stadium and stay to see the Mariners. I love stadium. Can't wait to become a stadium member and see the stadium more often. Plus whatever event is on there is a bonus.

Stadium!?

As usual FP, you are talking a lot of sense and when I start thinking FFC is right in his conspiracies it is time to visit a doctor.
However this one really hurts, especially as the Club did not see fit to email the affected members, jsut a general email to the full membership. Makes me feel really appreciated and committed to further wasting ridiculous amounts of money.
As I said I will make a decision as to my future when I know all the facts and when I am feeling a little more calm. At the moment I am still in the lashing out phase. Possibly more extreme than most for always trying to see a bright side through all the bad years, arguing with doom merchants on this forum and trying to remain optimistic. Paying over the odds for seats then always felt like I was helping the Club through difficult times that I had to endure to see the Club through.

However putting up the nets and dressing the field at Normanhurst Oval and then supporting their premier league team in the afternoons is looking attractive. It is a way of supporting a sport, not a business.

This is a tough one and I feel sorry for all involved, including the club. Surely there's some kind of compromise that can be made
Deal is done just like the APL and NSW Government. No fan input just the result of the deal that was hidden from all but those in the know.

Know how you feel AM, looks like I will be on the move next season too, but no point arcing up as we don't know what the offer will be. Yes I was happy to pay more thinking I was helping the club, and probably was, but having the game day experience watching my team is the main reason I'm there when I can be. That won't change, just the view will!
