Travelling peeps - can you storm the field and have the game abandoned if it gets to 5-0 again??  :p

It depends, if it is like the game I went to on Sunday where the players bowed to the spectators before the game then I just couldn't be that disrespectful :p

I'm thinking a draw is our best possible hope, now go and prove me wrong lads....

Although if we win the other 2 games I think we can still finish 2nd as long as the motorbikes also win their other 2 games!

Larwrie: Show some pride

LAWRIE McKinna has called for his Central Coast side to show some pride in tonight's Asian Champions League clash against Kawasaki Frontale after their 5-0 drubbing two weeks ago.

McKinna has admitted his side faces an enormous challenge to get something out of the match after being humbled at home recently.

But he wants his players to stand up and be counted in the return leg and keep their chance of making the second round alive.

"After being beaten 5-0, the boys have been pretty down but we have to get a bit of pride back in our performance," he said.

"We have to take pride in our performance on Tuesday, which will set us up for our last two Group H games, get our confidence back, get confidence in each other and, after a humiliating defeat, show the Japanese that we can play."

The Mariners coach admits Kawasaki arevan imposing outfit with class players all over the pitch, but he says a more-disciplined approach will make a major difference to his team's performance.

"After the last game I said that they were probably the best team that we've played against, but we've got to be a lot tighter in defence, from the front to the back and we need to take our chances," he said.

Pedj Bojic and Matt Simon have returned from suspension to boost the Mariners' chances - replacing Ahmad Elrich and Nik Mrdja, who are injured and ill.

"We're going to make a few changes, because we have to, and boys that have been doing well at training will have their opportunity now - we have to be tight, play as one unit all over the park and hopefully take a chance or two," McKinna said.

The Mariners are on two points, three points behind second-placed Pohang Steelers and five adrift of Kawasaki. Another loss, plus a Pohang win in the other game would all but eliminate the Mariners from contention. McKinna knows that a point is vital to maintain in touch.

"If we can get anything from this game tomorrow it will be a huge bonus for us and pick us back up," he said.

With Mrdga out and Simon in we might have a chance since Simon shouldn't miss one on ones with the keeper

I'll try and inject some optimism here. I hope that the team got the worst out of themselves in the previous game and will be a different proposition in Japan, or is it too much to hope for? Could points from the Pohang and Teda games following this be enough to scrape into the next round?

I went for the WQ qualifier in February.

If you can get seats during a Jetstar sale, you can fly return to Narita from Sydney for about 660. I ended up buying a 700 yen train pass every day to get around Tokyo, which is about 12 bucks. Meals for me consisted of a big Maccas meal at about 11am (about 600-1000 yen) and then restaurant food for dinner (anywhere from 1500-4000 yen depending on location and type of food). Drinks were about 500 yen each on the lower scale.

I got confused.  Turned on the TV, saw the rain, thought it was being played in Gosford again...

Hutcho's yellow cards - am I of the only one who thinks that these scenes of one person throwing a temper tantrum then suddenly 7 or 8 players running over to cry to the ref are one of the things that makes football look like an utter joke?

Now Boogs is sidelined for the next match...
Osman picks up a card as well, and he's now sidelined next week too.  Been a harmful minute there :p

Hackfests are fun to watch - I love rainy games!  :pirate: :pirashoot: :pirate: :pirashoot:

tactics are better this match and helped by the rain and referee

we are trying to slow the game down as much as possible and not let them get any rhythm

if we conceed a few cards in the process so be it as we are playing a much better side
