ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mass Boycotts

But they clearly under estimated the toll that all of those years of being kicked by the media have taken on us football fans and how badly people wanted them to champion the sport and it's supporters
This so much.
I don't expect the FFA to stop the anti-football junk. Haters are going to hate.
I want to see them come out and slap it down with the facts. Our sport is no worse than many others but perception is allowed to fester because the paid trolls are not being refuted. Then this feeds into over policing and more negative articles because there "need to be riot police at games". It's a viscous circle built on exaggeration.

Suggestion to all the CCM Fans that occupy Bay16:

To have a clearly defined 'empty Bay', draw a line straight down the middle.

If you 'usually' sit to the right of that line - then move to the Bay to the right.

If you 'usually' sit to the left of that line - then move to the Bay to the left.

Most importantly - fill EVERY seat on the aisle, from top to bottom FIRST, then fill in from there.

Fans that normally sit in Bays 15 & 17 probably wont enjoy being moved sideways a little, and some might even think to sit in Bay16 itself - which should be explained to them why 'they shouldn't' and preferably by Pete Prior using the megaphone, once to Bay 15 then again to 17.

2 solid lines down both sides of Bay16 with what should be some solid numbers inwards from there.

Then again, its a Thurs nite game ;)

Going ... happy to support any reasonable protest (not boycotting as that hurts the club (though I've paid already)) or walking out (I don't travel 1,000km to miss some of the game

I'm all for the boycotts. It isn't just about the money (most who would boycott would be members, I'd presume), but the empty seats and stadiums. Yes, it's hurting the clubs because the FFA aren't the ones on the frontline. But while the clubs are getting hurt, they'll put pressure on the FFA - and that pressure will come from elsewhere.

People say 'just turn up and show the media how awesome the supporters are!'. Well, isn't that what we've been doing since the HAL started?

Gallop and his other lying minion are ruining football. They are incompetent, and Gallop is presiding over f***up after f***up. But he has completely failed to defend the product from the media - so if the FFA doesn't support football, why should anybody else?
But it isn't even just that - he has completely and utterly missed the point of what the concerns are about, as seen from the first press conference. It isn't just the lack of an appeals process - in fact, the multiple lies about the process are a bit part of the matter. It's the sheer arrogance and the contempt they've shown for the fans - fans who have been pushed around since Day 1 by a football body that doesn't understand active support and doesn't work with the fans to implement harsh policy.

I'd love to know how much money they spend on this worrying Hatomoto mob too - has any sporting body in Australia ever showed so much disrespect to its fans to deliberately and continuously place them under that sort of surveillance?

Gallop has got to go.

These are the reasons why I support boycotts, even though I was initially opposed to them. I don't know if boycott or a walkout sends more of a message, and I have no complaint with anybody who has their membership and doesn't want to waste the money they spend.

Personally, I think it would be great if a boycott is accompanied with something else, even just standing outside the stadium with a banner, but that may invite abuse from people who don't understand the scenario.

Glad to see the YA are supporting the protest in one way or another.

This has grown to be more than just a protest about unjust treatment of fans.

It is the first serious shot in a battle as to where the fans fit in, in the ownership football in Australia.

One silly journalist has finally galvanised the fans to flex some muscle over all the simmering niggles that have been dished out by the FFA over the last 10 years.

Registration fees.
International ticket pricing.
Game programming.
Patronising attitude.

I am sure you can name many more.

Hopefully it will be the first step to fans being understood and treated more as partners in this great game.
Instead of a commodity to be patronised and kept under control and treated like dumb cattle.

Reports today that the FFA knew the banned list was going to be published 2 WEEKS before it happened...

I'm out. The message needs to get through that the head body of the game needs to stand up for the game when it is being attacked, rather than staying completely silent.

As fans we are constantly defending the game to the ignorant arseholes out there that only know what they hear / read about the game in the agenda driven media.

It's time that the FFA showed some real leadership for a change. They've completely missed the boat on this one, and they might finally start to realise that the fans have had enough.

I'LL be there, just not in Bay16 and NO ACTIVE SUPPORT.

& Don't FORGET,
it's 'Throwback - Thursday'

Wear your earliest piece of Mariners Kit be it a WCC T-Shirt, Marinators Original or a HAL Season 1 'Star Trekker', dust it off out of the cupboard and JUST wear it.
