ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

GVE wanking on about how HE has just worked out that Kaz is rubbish, bit about our latest loss - oh and GVE wants Bozza apparently

The Jets beat the Mariners 2-1 with goals from Matt Thompson and Peter Hynes with Pedj Bojic on target for Lawrie McKinna's side and van Egmond said he was more pleased to see former Adelaide United defender Angelo Costanzo come through 90 minutes than the result.

With Ljubo Milicevic and Adam D'Apuzzo suspended for next week's clash with Nagoya, Costanzo will almost certainly deputise in central defence despite having not played a game since his move from Adelaide three months ago.

"Ange has never been the best athlete in the world but he is smart and reads the game really well and he did well today and got through the 90 minutes no problem," van Egmond said.

Van Egmond also threw the gauntlet down to goalkeeper Ben Kennedy, who gave a fine account of himself for the Jets and challenged the 22-year-old to keep the No.1 shirt.

"He will experience some highs and some lows and he has set himself a benchmark which he did in Nagoya," said van Egmond.

"He is a hard marker on himself in training and now that (Ante) Covic is not there he has the chance to be a No.1.

"At the moment the shirt is for him to lose and if he keeps progressing as he is, I will have no qualms in bringing in a No.2 keeper."

Van Egmond, however, did rule out a possible move for former Socceroos keeper Mark Bosnich, who is still hoping to win an A-League contract after a spell with the Mariners last year

Doubtless more of his master motivation to make Kennedy try harder - personally, I think Kennedy will do fine for you guys.

Here's hoping. He was pretty shaky at times back at the start of V2, but a couple of seasons behind Covic has probably made him more mentally tough and determined, not to mention what he would have learned from Cova. Was a pretty good shot stopper from what I remember, and he was pretty dominant in the air in Nagoya last week.

Mrdja and Timpano would be the most injury-prone players in the history of football.

Or more like Australia's own equivalent of Mick Ferguson.

Nik tore his hamstring and will be out for a few weeks according to herald.

Sign him up, he deserves another season.  A solid investment.

Nik's probably just signed for another 12 months, had been playing with no apparent injuries, so I guess he thought it time to dust off the fishing rod and hit the Brisbane Waters one more time....

Anyone wanna bet that he's going to have 'complications' with the recovery, a change of diagnosis, the need for an op he'll put off for 12 months, and then be available for maybe 6 matches this season before finally breaking down and having an operation that will have him out for the rest of the season and then 'excused' from the hard yakka in the off season......

Life's hard eh Nik?

Release him.  He has looked a pale shadow recently.  Use our money on a more reliable player.
