I love this non sequential round thing we have happening  ;D

Ok so we won't start any of the young uns that will be the future of the club even through it is a short week, we will probably have mrdja back in, and we will probably lose. So onto the important point, what time are we starting to drown our sorrows at the KB?

+1

Lawrie it ain't working. It's broke and you're trying to fix it with the broken parts you already tried before.

Throw Panni in,play Lewis again (at least he'll take a defender on unlike his replacement on Sat) and let's go for it.

I'd rather see us go down having a go than go down playing the sort of defensive shit we have been lately (because we won't scrape a win imo)  :-\

Agreed, we wont hold them scoreless so we need to stop this counter attacking shit, press high and hard and have a real go at them.

SFC can be nervy at home if you have a go - sit back and we are doomed

Mrdja to be subbed off at Half Time so he can get back to the coast to DJ at Woodies

let's see something different:

            vuko
porter boogs wilko heff
            hutch
travis panni weemac lewis
            simon

subs: redmayne, crowell, pedj, mrdja

the only concern would be that it's a pretty lightweight midfield, but for whatever reason mcflynn seems to imagine he's some sort of footballer at the moment rather than the scything fouling c**t that he's *meant* to be, and kisel's about as hard hitting as a dandelion seed.

from the bench, pedj can play in the backline too but with him there along with crowell there are two options for the midfield if we're getting killed in there.

i think with the string of bad results (haven't won since a month ago today) and possibly the worst performance of the lot on saturday we need to make a few serious changes to try to break the pattern.

I have a feeling that wilko is a better player on the right side of the mix so I would like to see
danny
boogs wilko crowell heff
hutch
travis panni weemac lewis
simon

subs. pedj porter  mrjda redmayne

I base my wilko comment on the bases that his better performances have from that position when Doig and Vidmar were playing. Their presence also relieved him of the organiser role, probably because of his personality best person as a club captain but not up to it on the field.

Please drop Travis, please stop Travis

i'd have thought you'd quite like having someone playing for the mariners making simply unforgivable defensive lapses at the death?

we'd better not see that again...

Hard job...

I'd probably take a punt on a 433 with Brawn in the middle and get Travis as close to their goals as possible - running at their backs more instead of at their mids... and giving us a different edge to or striking combinations upfront.

Clarke  Wilko  Doig  Heff

  Pedj  Crowell  Hutch

  Travis  Simon  Mrdja

Bench: Kwas, Lewis, Weemac

Game plan - Pin their bloody ears back form the get go and at all costs get on the sheet early to rattle their confidence and turn the crowd. Get two and they'll turn ugly. If we press them and force their mids to be of defensive mind we should be able to isolate their strikers and let the back line keep them quiet and frustrated.

But, sit back and let them comfortably play out from the back, make a few link plays and they'll begin to swagger and lord it over us as per usual and we'll lose a bloody gain.

Sub wise and trying to out coach Vitislav...

If we do frustrate them in the first half by pinning their ears back and or taking the lead, Vitisla will of course seek to tactically counter after half time and teams often come at you hardest between 45 and 60 in such instances.

Important to anticipate this. Provided we're up, Travis tucks back in behind the two key strikers for awhile to help out - then at sixty five or so throw a curve ball at Vitislav and double sub to throw Bling sharply back onto the back foot.

Lewis has been terrific going forward, but still a little too defensively naive - however he will make a fantastic impact player.  Combine him with a fresh Weemac and give them a whole new set of problems to deal with.

Then Kwas at 75 odd for whichever striker is proving least effective.

Boogs is a great player, but is not performing to his ability. A wake up might get him mentally back for us for the rest of the season. If not he seems sadly lost to us anyway.

Porter works very hard and does do some great work, but unfortunately he is still mistake prone and better suited to mids. So we need another RB and in absence of alternatives when we desperately need a win - Clark deserves the spot for mine - great game last week on his offside - some people complained about his crossing last game. He's a GREAT crosser of the ball - but he's naturally a right sided player and will be much more impactful back in that position imo. Also a great team player and positive influence all round.

Otherwise I'm all for blooding Sherlock.
And would be happy to see Panni on the bench.

Difficult choices with Boogs, Porter, Ahmad, Dmac, Huke and Panni all missing out if the above lineup was chosen...

But we do it would seem need to make some changes.

1 up front is deadly for us, especially since we have forgotten how to defend. Time for the return of the mac!

Simon and macca up front, hopefully someone wants to score, and we can go from there.

Can someone please explain to me what Crowell has done wrong  - he adds grunt to our midfield and given our current situation with 3 losses why not start him????

We were at the GCU game early December and was totally annoyed he didnt even get on and now he was dropped to youth - why doesnt he deserve a fair go???
