ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This week we'll be raffling off tickets for next weeks home game against Sydney FC.  Corporate box tickets for game against QLD was first prize at Trivia.

Sorry Perm, Mariners decision, not sure why. I do know there is a prematch for members held at the Club on the day.
That is why I am just opening the bar with one staff and security to infom all at the door.

Thanks for asking.

Have they advertised pre-match for members?  I've not heard anything.

Can't find anything on the website but found this from an interview with Lawrie McKinna:

You have always been a manager committed to your craft, what has been the highlights working with the Central Coast throughout the history of the Hyundai A-League?

Obviously it would have to be the two Grand Dinals and how the community have really got behind us. Its hard to believe that when we first started weve gone from about four thousand people at our games to sell-out crowds on three consecutive weeks last season. Its also really good now to go down to the shopping centre on game days and see the kids, mums and dads wearing jerseys and other gear. I think weve turned the Central Coast into a football town and our supporters are our biggest asset. It makes me very proud to think weve changed the culture up here from a rugby league town to a football town. I love the way that people support and respect us. The club has a lot going for it.

What are the challenges in keeping the close knit community spirit and connection as the club and the competition get bigger, and the club signs higher profile players?

I think thats been one of our strengths. We had to embrace the community at the beginning and the club cant afford to forget that. If we do, the community will forget about us and all the hard work is wasted. I think the main goal right now is to continue building on this community relationship and the foundations from season one and it is certainly something I intend to do for as long as Im here.

Makes a mockery of their decision to pull the players from post-match and statements like this just become hot air.

What you didn't know that all the players and members are coming up to level 5? ;)

On a serious note, what are the chances that a pre match members funstion will clash with NYL games. you know it's going to happen and it just royally screws everyone for getting food pre game from the leaguesy.

I think we've discussed this in another thread about a week or two ago.  Pre-match functions aren't ideal as this is when players mentally (and physically??) prepare for the game ahead.  Not a good time to be signing autographs and making small talk with members.

I do agree no players at post match is getting a little ridiculous and contradicts what the Mariners are about, being a community club.

On the same token, the Mariners never advertised post match as a member benefit this year, so they've covered their own arse there.

Still, its a big let down for many kids whos only chance to see their heros is post match. I personally know many parents who have approached the mariners about this, but I dont even know if the club has replyed.

I expect more from a "family club" like the mariners TBH

I expect more too bear. Especially when our crowds are substantially down, you would expect the club to be working doubly hard in the community and connecting with the Coast more than ever before.

Even though they are not advertised as part of the membership package, I think it's fair for members renewing this year to assume that the player functions are a given after three years of them.

I honestly believe the community work is not there this year as it was in previous years. Very, very dangerous in my opinion.

My ten year old loves the post match functions more than the games as he gets to talk to his heroes. I'm not sure he'll want to be a member and attend games next season if this continues. And I can't believe he'll be the only kid on the Coast with this attitude.

The very least they can do is to issue a statement on their website outlining their reasons. I'm very unhappy about this. This will be my last season in platinum if my young bloke pulls the pin. I could be in bay 16 very soon with all of you guys and that's not a bad thing at all. In fact, I would enjoy it a lot. I would just hate to see the club lose the odd member over this.

Given that we rarely if ever sell out (and if you are early enough you can get tickets easily) I am actually questioning what the point of being a member actually is? The saving is fairly minor so whats the upside?

Call it a season ticket and be done with it, dont allude to some sort of better treatment and then fail to deliver.

Have we built a "community" brand and are now only paying lip service?

Dangerous arrogance starting to creep into the club IMHO

I'll do it in the morning Perm. I was going to do it anyway but you have prompted me to do it sooner rather than later.
