ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Cy and Muller...?
I'm still on the fence a bit about Cy. He seems to have been badly affected by Covid and injuries. I can't imagine he would have been that expensive so it probably was a gamble worth taking. I think he's just not physical enough for the A league.

I certainly wouldn't be signing Muller again, I agree that was a gamble that didn't pay off. I'd be interested to know what he gets paid.

It was soft however like I said before the problem for Goodwin was he directly benefited with an uncontested header when Kye went to the ground. I didn’t think they would over rule it to be honest but that’s just from being screwed over so many times this year. If it was against us I would be dirty on the player for putting his hands in the middle of the defenders back. When you do that which you can get away with most of the time you are asking for trouble. The rules were applied and they paid the consequences. They were into Ams all game, he does not like that so they actually swayed him against themselves i

Their defence is so poor, Moreshe’s goal and Jurmans challenge was very poor defending. It’s been their problem all season. Long may it last.

Their fans are so salty, it’s soooo bloody good.

Just watched the replay. That VAR decision was soft as. We are now owed six points this season not eight.
Agree. Whispered it to @Josho Howe once they started showing the replays. There wasn't much in it but Kye did what any good pro would do. At the end of the day, Goodwin gave them a reason to overturn it and they did.

Similar to the penalty we got against Western. Lacroix didn't put enough force on Urena for him to go down but Urena did what any smart footballer would do.

Cry salty tears scummers. FTS.

Some actions leave you vulnerable to interference from relatively minor contact - like running at top speed or jumping. If a striker is clipped and tries to keep their feet, loses space on a defender and scuffs his shot he probably won’t get a penalty, if he goes down rather than playing a great chance that’s been reduced to an average one his great chance is often restored via a penalty.

Similarly if Kye is jumping and is pushed out of balance and unlikely to get any/decent contact on the ball as a result should he still try or force a decision? Had he nodded it to back post while off balance and the jets score there’s no review. The game doesn’t reward trying to play through or keep your feet. Until it does I think forcing a decision is the right action there regardless of if I as a fan like it or not.

What a game, had everything a F3 Derby could ever need!

Few concerns,
We seem to panic when we are pressed in midfield, against stronger teams I worry we may struggle.
WTF happened after half time, fell asleep for 5 mins and it nearly cost us.
Hate when Mariners fans get cocky, lets give it to them at full time when the result is ours, not at half time when there is still 45 to play!

Full credit to Pete and the crew at the front of the bay, fantastic efforts, flags looked great. Bloke in the Arsenal shirt was immense in getting the back of the bay involved. Never felt more pround to be a Mariners fan than tonight! COYY!!!

I feel like an underrated highlight of last night was the normally mild-mannered Kye running 20 metres to shirt front the grub Hoffman after he had his second hack at Faz, and looking like it was very much Hoffman's plan to try and intimidate him.

The beauty of it was that it didn't feel like an angry out of control reaction by, but very deliberate and considered but still aggressive and putting Hoffman on notice, a case of letting him know "you don't mess with any of the Mariners kids on my watch".
