ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Surely this is something the FFA can step in and stamp out. You can't allow agents and their agendas to run the game.
What for. We didn’t sign him up for longer. That’s our fault.

He is an Australian junior. What sort of risk is that to sign him for 3 or 4 years.

But Grella certainly seems a difficult agent

An agent saying were gonna take your player because we don't like you

There is nothing to stamp out.
Rowles contract with CCM expires in June next year when he will be able to sign for whoever he chooses.
Even if there were transfer fees in the A-League we would not get a penny. He will be a free agent.

An agent or management company can't be known publicly to be making statements of intent like that. It totally distorts the league worse than any marquee fund does.
Grella is trying to position himself as the Mendes or Boras of the HAL. Neither of them are highly thought of.

I am pretty sure a contracted player can be approached in the final 6 or 12 months of an expiring contract.

I need someone who knows the regs better than I to confirm or deny.

FFS we signed DDS to 5 years last season, we signed Matty Ryan to a multi year contract and picked up a transfer fee. We even got some dosh for Tom Rogic.

This was the way the club was going to make money, develop youth and sell them on. That an The COE was the management model for developing a successful club.

Now we are signing all our promising youngsters for a year and they leave as free agents with the Club getting SFA.

Just plain brilliance in club management.

Maybe the new plan is to become a retirement village club and old players can pay us to play. It seems to be as smart as what is happening now.

What the F*** is going on?

Risk averse... Strangely for minimum wage players

Sort of sums up the recruitment and negotiating powers of current management and how we ended up with the team we have. I thought phelan would have overseen that area but apparently he specialises in setting up acadamies. His input into the team was just a ruse to flavour favours.

So the player you didnt rate....Rowles.....is now a world beater even though he was responsible for poor defending on one of the Scummers goals last week.....and Phelan should have locked him into a long term contract....FFS some of the drivel on here!!

I only remember me and Pat Jennings rating the kid last season and he is still a rough diamond.

Kye would be silly to go anywhere else atm............sounds like a weak story to me and now is the time to sign him to a 2yr contract.

But Ii they want to swap him for Atkinson, then thats fair enough.....lets do the deal now.

From what i've seen of Kye at training he is a lovely lad, completely devoid of any ego.

He is one of only 6 or 7 players that i would be retaining for next year.

Grella was a shitty player. Dirty and without class.

He takes his gutter standards into player management.............to be honest he would have been better off as a pimp....shipping girls off to the middle east.
He is a germ.

He's a Germ that's been watching entourage or ballers. Thinks his cock is bigger than it probably is.

Who are your seven Wombat?

I posted multiple times that I rated Rowles also.
Agree on Atkinson, he’s a gun.
Never liked Grella.

Not easy holding onto our talented youngsters when we’re poor on field and risk. But we really need to get this right. Can’t afford to give a year or two of game time that brings young players up to speed and then lose them right when they start to hit a standard that will make them a genuine asset.
