Couple of worrying things out of the last two games but i feel we can turn things around. Robbie Slater kept saying it and as much as i don't want to agree we have nothing on the right side of the park. Rowles has been steady to start the season but he isn't a right sided player. Oar was playing on the right as well. Both will always turn inside once they have the ball. Becomes so predictable. Rowles pass to golec which went to Honda was because has has no right foot. Same for his shank on goal 3. Would love to see what Millar has on the right side and swap out Rowles with Clisby. Clisby's first thought is pass back.
We have become one dimensional with all of our lefties. All of our attack comes centrally or down the left. Everyone wants to say Ross was no good etc, we gave him no service and when we did it was from the left only. Bringing Simon back in will not change things.
As much as i hate to say this Wemac has done nothing and he appears to have lost his attacking spark, always looking to offload (back). Hoole has impressed in both games since coming on and for me warrants starting next game (if fit enough)

My fears are Mulvey is a little out of touch with the league. I hope he is a fast learner and can catch up.

He’s still treating the league like it was when he was in charge and when the Mariners were a feared opponent. The league has improved immensely since his time.

He admitted when he came back that he hadn’t been paying any attention to the league, it’s showing.

We are getting slaughtered in the middle. Mulvey has been persistent with 2 out and out midfielders and they are getting over run. They need help.

The game has moved to a 433 as the system of vogue in the top flight premier league clubs and Arnie has pointed to this as his reason for trying it for the Socceroos.

We are two top heavy. While potent on the break they are not getting enough opportunities or sustained possession. They also don’t support the midfielders. McCormack McGlinchy have no intention of defending.

As pointed out we have two right footed players on the left hand side but this is shrinking the field and we don’t have the midfielders available on the pitch to go up the guts.

We also are not moving to get into position to receive the ball.

His belief that Mat Simons energy is acceptable when it’s causing us to play long balls, which is fine buy there is no plan after the hoof. The ball is not finding McCormack in that system. He changed through necessity but lets see what happens in two weeks.

He is also persistent with McGlinchy who is slow in attack and doesn’t offer an outlet to the backs and doesn’t defend.

We also have recruiting failures such as ordinary keeper and no recognized RB at all. Using a visa on McGlinchy is a joke. Cisse while a strong presence is not the quality we are seeing in othersides. And now he has pissed off Heirej. Which sucks and we can’t afford that.

Mulvey talks a good game but is playing catch up. I hope he can turn it around but I think it’s going to take him a year just to workout what’s required.

I watched the perth / adelaide game again. Both well organised tactically effective smooth ball control.
I watched the wsw / roar game .......... not so well controlled but smooth in patches and tactically profficient.
I watched the city / nix game ............ the same.
I watched our game again ............ what a shambles we are compared to the rest of the league. Tom h missing and a midfield disaster. Lethargic warmup that reflected on the field and Mm has not got any answers other than we will train hard blah blah blah to rectify the problems. Why he is persisting with no rb is questionable to his problem solving if that is the best the three of them can come up with. Trying to find a spot to use mcglinchy’s lost ability and stamina ......... you have to be kidding me.
It appears to me our problem lies in the coaching staff.

Who we gonna sign in January? What area do we need to strengthen?
Do guest players need to be registered? Could we sign someone now that way?

Unfortunately .......... I’m beginning to think that maybe mm isn’t the answer .......... maybe he is part of the problem.
He signed in the “mc only paying peanuts” time ............ cowtowing to the “return of the glory days” song book and recruiting cheap.
I understand the loyalty shown here on this forum to mcglinchy and simon ......... but they are yesterdays heroes and this seasons a-league is way above their pay scale. Return of the old culture ........ phfft !!!
4-5-1 and buy a right fullback.

This is not really a serious comment, but...
The first 2 matches, we fought hard for 2 draws (although I admit Roar should have spanked us), then...
Usain bolts away from us...
The next 2 matches we have been thumped 7-1 and played like shit...
I wonder...
