I'd take a look at Joshua Laws if he is uninjured. Predominantly a CB but can play CM and LB - still only 26. Kaltak and Paull both off contract at the end of the year. If Laws comes in and can make the squad then Brian (who has played CM for Vanuata I believe) or Trent can move forward or he can play there himself.

That could work well. Have him and Sains in CM and move Kaltak/Paull out to LB/bench. Has some flexibility in a 3-1 or a 4 backline depending on our formation. Strengthen our defensive centre can help support the rest.

Personally, I thought he was pretty shaky when he was at the Nix and was culpable for a number of goals they conceded, so he would need to have improved from that base somewhat to be worth looking at imo.

Might also explain the flamethrower being applied to the non football dept. Gives a clean slate.

I don't think we should expect much in the transfer window. Our finances aren't in great shape, our scouting networks are a shadow of what they used to be....

We'd probably end up with another team's bench player, tbh.

And i don't even know that We'd be fussy on who, because almost all of our positions need improvement, particularly through the core.


Centre backs, centre mids, attack line, wingers....all could easily see improvement.

I don't know why but I feel there is something in the current investor rumour.... key reasons, reduced APL payments, the recent sales of PG & Jets was for only small amounts.... our squad does not have a number of players ready for overseas moves...

With all the above me thinks MC could be a little easier to negotiate with... that has been suggested in the past, ...plus we are still in an afterglow of the last two seasons...

I’m not surprised that we haven’t heard about incoming players yet, even though Jacko has said he wants to be active.

What surprises me is that a number of A league teams have outgoing players for OS opportunities and as yet none of them are ours…
