ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Brian played fullback before and looked awesome in the role...so it wasn't a mickey take.
Yes, absolutely agree with that based on that one stint he had there. It wasn't so much that Brian was playing full back that was the micky take, more that he took Nector off, the remaining 3 defenders all changed positions and slotted Harry in at left back. Pretty much saying you might have the golden boot and all time record goal scorer and your big money squad behind him but we can play whoever we want across the backline and we have you covered.

However, it Kaltak as a fullback appears to be in Monty's thoughts somewhere. He is fast, reputed to be in the top 10 fastest footballers in the world. Maybe he was a 100m runner in his youth.
He would be like a supercharcharged Lewis Miller bringing terror to opposition wingers.
Just an interesting thought.
You would have to be mad though, he is too valuable as a central back.

The last sentence says it.
He's built like a centre back.

I remember him playing as full back, late in the game.
Was it against Adelaide when they were down to 10?
I remember him going on a great run and putting in a cross.
But he's a centre back.

If Monty stays for one more season I think there will be a lot of players that stay for the extra year rather then go and be a benchwarmer in europe. Another year of improving and their stocks rise even more, way more than a year sitting on the bench. And some of the players that have done this will know, and advise the same (eg. Sammy, Theo) as well as watching what has happened with Garang and Alou.

I think this even applies to Monty. One good season might get him a look in at a decent league. But a season like this, followed by success in Asia, and then another overperforming season - the offers will be much better.

Fingers crossed this is how everyone is looking at things.

Agree, then Monty can take a few players with him. Ange is good at doing this.
