ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What happened to the Jesse Curran rumour? There were some solid sources behind it.

He is back on the coast after a holiday, has been seen with his best mate and CCU skipper Daniel Macfarlane.
Not trying to get hopes up, but, Sydney’s side is just about sorted defensively? WSW too? Jets also?...
I’m not trying to restart the rumour... but here we are.
Would be a very good signing. Would provide very good cover for Ziggy at RB or could allow Ziggy to play CB and Jesse RB.
Grew up as a centre mid not necessarily a DM. So would bring good versatility. Battle hardened from Scotland with brilliant technical qualities.

Read some supporters opinions in him. Not complementary. Certainly not like us with Hoole but of the opinion he wasnt SPL level.

Paul Okon just said on the WSW Leeds coverage that he almost signed WSW’s Schwegler when he was here...
Piss weak as a manager but he has some good connections.

I am hearing that in its search for a keeper, the club has its sights set a little lower than we were hoping.

Disappointing if true. :(

My opinion of Okon as a manager grew again after being subjected to Mulveyball

Irrespective of what else we had I really believe with a capable striker Okon’s tenure could have been very different. Not without issues but for what was a relatively tight defence a couple of goals here or there would have really had an impact on the ladder, we could have done something similar to Adelaide this year with a tough but low scoring run.
Asdrubal didn’t work out and covering him with Powell was optimistic at best. That season we could have broken our mediocre streak. Hopefully we’ve learned since then.

Glover?
Edit: will be interesting to see what we do with that final visa slot. Keeper, CB or striker would all be valid options.

Bean spill please.
I had hoped (and still hold out some hope) that management has figured out that bargain basement players in key positions nullify quality in other areas.
There is zero point of investing in players like Ziggy and the Koreans if we don’t have genuine A-League level talent in key areas like GK and Striker.

Both those roles are important but I think a keeper should be a priority if it’s between those two. It’s cliche but if you keep a clean sheet you’re guaranteed at least a point but if you’re leaking goals you can score 3 and still lose.

It sounds like we might have missed out on one of our targets if we’ve lowered our expectations for a keeper. Surely there’s an Australian or foreign keeper we could loan for a season if the current contract situation isn’t good.

I don't think it's cliched - we just spent a couple of seasons proving the concept and trashing our brand
