ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Pre Season 2022

Very interested to see how we go against City. As an optimist, sorry to say that I'm not at all convinced by our balance of experience and leadership right now. Sure as hell want to be wrong and if we challenge this year, Monty is a genius... but looking at us right now, there's a lot of alarm bells ringing in my head.
Think your to used to our success from last year :piralaugh:

We will be competitive and lets see how the new CB pairing goes.

Danny Vuk just sitting in the corner singing "what about me..... it isn't fair"
Vukovic is probably our best signing on paper. But he also isn't an outfield player, is 37, and played a total of zero games last season.

A goalkeeper isn't really a player who can lead from the front.

Our best sides have always had at least one experienced outfielder to lead our side. A Urena, Monty, Bozanic, Hutch or Patty and it's concerning that we don't really have that this season.

Yeah I get it.
We have however been talking about the Jan window a fair bit. Cummers came in then, I'd put my money on the signing everyone's waiting for, happening then. Our midfield is serviceable now, and TBH has the best potential in the league. We'll have ups and downs but the squad we've gathered gives the young players that everyone is nervous about the chance to stand up and make themselves legitimate A-League men's starters.
The guy I'm most nervous about is Garang. There's going to be alot of pressure on him if he's expected to just transform into a starter this year. I'm not saying he's not capable, just that his ability and skill could be overshadowed by the expectations to do what he's done last season, week in week out as a starter.
I think the most exciting aspect of this season is how Monty approaches his second season and what differences he brings tactically to our defence and attack. Looking at the signings it seems fairly obvious what he's going to do but I'm hoping he's got a few surprises in store for us.

Is this post from facebook? I don't follow the Mariners account on fb, in part because I don't log on to fb that often, but also because I assumed anything posted is a duplication of twitter where I do follow the club account.

I know we are down a man in the media area but are we restricting all fan engagement to fb now? I was surprised (and thought it was poor) that we haven't been heavily promoting the fan day (I have seen nothing since the confirmation of the times over a week ago on the club twitter, website or email). I would have thought we would have been promoting it hard. But maybe all the promotion is on fb? Or maybe even we want it to be low key and not a big attendance? Even so, something as basic as a change to timings ought to be communicated across all channels.

Also think it is very poor that there has been no mention, let alone promotion, of the GFs tomorrow (unless again it is all being done on fb as part of a single-channel comms strategy). You would only know that the 20s are in the GF by reading the weekly wrap of all Academy results for the week they got through - it was buried in there. The 1st grade at least had the prelim final live-tweeted, but there has been no mention of anything since the final whistle blew (certainly on non fb channels).

I can’t stress enough just how bare-bones we are in the media department at the moment. I mean, we have been bare bones for the last few years, but we’ve reached a new level. The pain will ease over the next couple of weeks thankfully with some good new blood coming in.

In the end opted to watch the U23s grand final.
Disappointed not to be there for family day, the weather certainly hasn't helped. Also would love to see the city friendly but had to choose 1...

Can someone who's there give updates?
