ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Good pathways in place to both the A-League and W-League, well done to the board for this :)

When we  charge this much you sometimes get the feeling it is also a way raising money... a bit like the old NSL clubs....

Most people know there are limited players of real excellence... we offer across a range of parks to most ages ... an academy ... HHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMmmmmm

Like Scholarship the word Academy is miss used... A scholarship is normally free ... an academy is normally for the talented ... We offer to anyone willing to fork out the coin a place for their child... in the [shadow=red,left]academy[/shadow]...

I do get the feeling we falsely advertise our Academy ... when in fact it is a revenue line number and if you can pay you can get in... with a few less expensive places put out as  scholarships...

I have no problem with the club raising money via running training and skills programs... I do have a problem with the language used ... it does add to the increasing disenchantment many are saying the local park teams and parents are starting to feel towards the Mariners...

A training and skills revenue stream is that and to call it an academy is stretching the rubber band to the extreme... you get away with it once even twice but by the fourth time .... well what can I say .. or maybe the club  believe it is an academy ...--- that would be a real worry ...

How about we call it "Manchester United Elite Academy Scholarship for Gifted Footballing Gods" then? I would much rather go to that.

Suits using false or miss leading names is not how you build a club .. it may slightly increase your revenue on the training ... but can loose you more revenue at the gate with people being pissed off and thinking we are a  money grabbing club prepared to say anything to get a ... "Oxford Scholar """ ... (pun Oxford Scholar is slang for a dollar ... and given people are paying for our Scholarship's ... clever .. well I think so)

Sounds similar to the misnomer that is "Coerver International Tour" If you have 10 grand spare you are part of the tour.

I have a child that plays for CCL.  He trialed for a spot in this as he was in it last year, and was cut. last year we were all just nominated via our club coaches and taken in.  This year seems very different as from feedback some received, is to come back for second trial, with only a few spots offered, to PYL players and also seems doesn't really matter where they reside or play.

I think chances are that not many will be selected from last year as it seems NEW coaches were told to only choose players with potential of ever becoming mariners.

Anyway my boy needs to go and work harder this time
