ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

How many people commute to Syd on a daily basis during the week?? Surely putting some sort of LARGE permanent signage/billoard type thing of next home matches etc at the Kariong, Ourimbah, Tuggerah, Sparks Rd etc etc exits would be the go. Gets heaps of people to notice and I'm sure council would be happy to take some sort annual fees to have these erected on Govt land.

Only one prob I forsee there.... Scum and the likes supporters possibly defacing it at some stage :popo:

Thoughts???

These billboards are very, very expensive but worth it IMO.

Alicia's dad had a great idea way back in season one. He proposed that a huge billboard be put up our side of the hawkesbury bridge going northbond. It would have the Mariners logo and read "Welcome to Mariners Country". It would give people a huge emotional response and link to the Mariners every time they are coming back from work or visiting Sydney - the same sort of emotional positivity you get everytime you see Ploddy.

That is a really great idea, excellent branding. Did the idea get very far?

There's two illuminated billboards on the south bound side (Kangy Angy) of the F3, just after you get onto the freeway from the Tuggerah exit. One of them is a Westfields ad.

Those heading north, see the signs well.

Would it take too much of an effort for the folks at the Mariners to contact the company with the advertising contract for those signs, and see if they could take the ad space up on the other one?

That way they would be spared the expense of putting one up themselves and the maintenance etc. is covered by the contracting company. Putting up a new sign, particularly one that would be illuminated and may impact upon local nearby residents, would require Council Approval.
