ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

He took over Doncaster when the previous manager was sacked in the October. I read a report when I first heard is name a few weeks back and I cba digging it out again but from memory it said something along the lines that he had them on the fringes of the play-off places for quite a while but then they had a horror run with injuries which exposed the lack of depth in what was a low budget squad.

So it sounds like he improved somebody else's team to start with, then went backwards again but possible extenuating circumstances.

Prior to that he had a long track record as an academy and development coach, including being assistant to Carlos Coberan at Leeds when they were the Development League champions. He also got himself a Sports Science degree whilst he was playing. So plenty in his resume to be positive about as well (though not sure that is in vogue these days).

To be fair when I've glanced at the coaching area during games he's looked the more vocal and involved.

I can only guess from my kids academy coach that, he was giving the players a few games to play without him telling them what to do to see how they played naturally with the input from training. Thats exceedingly generous no doubt.
