ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Ljubo Breaks His Silence - 442 EXCLUSIVE

Brilliant and candid interview just now on SBS. Had a confiedntiality clause with Victory but could not say much about his time there but he is clearly bitter.

After this interview I think he is less of prick - very outspoken and doesn't mince words and obviously this is the reason he didn't get on with Muscat and Merrick.

From the interview he is clearly gay and speaks as such. Very indirectly intimated to this as well.

Just a hunch but I reckon he was vilified at Melbourne by Muscat and Merrick and this was part of the problem. Again speculation but Muscky is extremely religious.

Was critical of many of the coaches in the A-League and said that all they would expect of him is to boot the ball up the field and he is more technical than that and doesn't agree with that philosophy.

interesting interview - also got the same vibe re: him being gay and probably clashed with some of his team mates and officials hence the confidentiality clause - he is clearly messed up and is probably doing the smart thing in getting himself right before making a come back

Really??  Proper like??

yep, does the sign of the cross constantly on the field as does vargas, hernandez and ward

Nothing wrong with being religious, but it doesnt give one the right to persecute others. (Not that it matters but I suspect Ljubo is also a Catholic given he attended a school called St Bede's ).

Mariners could do worse than sign him up as a defensive mid.

I didn't say that there was anything wrong about being religious - went to a catholic school myself. Just theorised that his lifestyle choices may have made him vilified at Victory.

Anyway, no chance he will come to the Mariners given what he said about him not like some of the coaches in the A-league who would make him boot the ball up the field.

Well there you go.  Did not seem like the type at all.

You learn something new everyday.

Really nice bloke off the field. Has the pleasure of chatting to him at a Victory post-match function the first time we went there this season.

Obviously football does things to his head - white line fever

Been caned by the penguins and brothers myself. I was making (unclearly perhaps) the point that 'religious' players dont have any right to persecute others. Your theory may be right, he didnt seem to happy with victory in the interview. I hadnt heard him speak before but he seems like a nice bloke, smart and a bloody good player.

You're probably right that he wouldnt get a spot here because of coaches wanting the ball booted upfield (and also because he speaks his mind).
