#1. Can you tell us about an affiliations the Mariners have with overseas/domestic clubs?

We spoke to former Aleague Grand Final Winner, Daniel Georgievski about his thoughts on the upcoming Mariners vs Melb City Grand Final, and he said “I’m still trying to find out why there is a week break before the game?, Absolutely Gobsmacked.”

When we gave him our thoughts as to why it may be due to the APL/A League following the same style as the AFL, NRL, NFL with a week off before grand final week, he wasn’t too pleased and had this to say “Fkn bananas, they should Copy their infrastructure of how to run a successful league, not copy these stupid things”

It has nothing to do with the APL trying to mimic other codes. It’s a pure scheduling f**k up on the part of the APL.

there is no sporting event on at Commbank Stadium next Saturday or Sunday, so I dont think its a scheduling fck up, and am more inclined to believe it is intentional

The scheduling f'up is due to a planned friendly that fell through... Meant to be a festival of football with an aleague all stars team. The whole idea was terrible considering the stars of the two best teams couldn't participate

But presumably they’ve known about the all stars thing falling over well beforehand and could have moved the GF forward. Instead they’ve doubled down.
