ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Let's get Tiatto

If we're losing Heff, let's get Tiatto for the last few games...might even be more than a few.

He might have some personality issues but I've always admired his football (when he wasn't trying to break someone's leg). He might be just what we need to shore up the front of the defence and get the distribution happening quicker.

I'll bet he'd be worth his weight in gold in the dressing room too.

Jazzie

Sheer joy at beating the scum :)

+1, good thought. Just what Doctor Jazzie would order. The pot needs a bit of stirring. Think some of the team are being a bit too precious at the moment. Tiato would get them out of their comfort zone.

There's no doubt one area we are really lacking in is leadership and experience, so he'd be a real bonus. If not now, it's a must for next season.

We don't need Tiatto for the muscle. We've got plenty of that already.

The part of his game I would take any day is the passing and composure on the ball. Take out the kick to kill side of his game and as a *footballer* he's miles and miles ahead of Heffernan. His passing, tackling and general tactical play are light years ahead. The problems are a) the cost that would be associated, and b) the simple fact that he's a complete f**king nutbar.

I'd like us to keep a wide berth.

Not sure why people think his experience would help.  He does have quality but a player of his experience who loses his head and gets sent off in important matches does not display leadership to a team, in fact exactly the opposite.  It's not like Brisbane have set the world on fire with the experience of Tiato, Miller and Moore in their side.

I'd have him...we don't have a soul who can play effectively on the left. Lewis too young, Kwasnik not on this planet, Clarkie a RB not a LB. Would certainly stir the media pot a bit and would love to qualify and meet GCU in the finals :)

Agreed with everything that you said except the last bit - I would take him in a flash.

nick would like to have him around just so he gets to call someone bignose. (bring the mongrel here and make misery for scum and nix in the next few games)

Play him back left and our back line is the best in the league. Could shut out anyone if we make the finals.

Play him mid left with Lewis behind him and it gives Lewis the experience infront of him he needs. Both could also swap at any given stage. Also adds an actual lefty out wide which keeps Clarkie and Kwassie off the field untill 60 or 70.

Think it would be a good short term deal if the price was right.

Getting Tiatto is nothing more than a very short term solution. I know he has experience & a certain level of skill, but he's 36 so even if he is prepared to go around again somewhere else, it would probably only be 1 season. I think we need to be looking for a more long-term player.
Also, according to an article I read the other day, he's happily drifting into retirement; would he really want to put it in the hard yards any more? Once retirement enters your thoughts, you're gone.
Besides, as some have opined in another thread, ArnoldOut might bring in what we need :)

I might start a thread called 'Let's get everyone who comes off contract with other clubs'

Y'know, let's do it. We'll merge this thread with the Dadi thread and string them all on from there.
