ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Overall this forum is balanced. If people feel it is too negative they will stop posting which is a pity but some negativity will always occur. If posters are being bullied or threatened this is a different story. Also I don't like players being called "frauds' or that overseas players be deported-if they are wearing our shirt they should be given some respect.

It’s a big loss to loose @Forum Phoenix if he is really gone (definitely quite) but we have come off a pretty successful two years so I don’t think the negativity is that bad. A few are competitive and want to win every game but that’s what forums are, A nice safe place for arm chair critics to bag professionals.

Play on but FP please do come back

Overall this is a great forum. Insightful discussion and lots of diverse opinions.
When I feel people are being too negative I call it, but really just to provide that balance of perception and because I believe what I am saying.
It's the same now - genuinely, unlikely as it is that we can repeat last years antics, we will compete enough to be proud of our team and the same signs are in there as were there in our first 4 losses last year.

The only time it got really full on (negativity wise) was after our 4 losses, but I really do understand where it came from. We had just come out of the dark ages and won a GF. The fear of a plummet freaked people out. I remember the worst thing during the dark ages was hope. As soon as you had any hope it would be cruelly snatched away. It was easier to know it was just going to suck.
So we had a GF win and our hope reinstated then the threat of returning to the dark ages seemed real and the fear kicked in.

But in general I think we have a good thing here.

It's a place to vent when you need to, to speculate, to celebrate and to froth.

Only thing I'd say is if you're hating on a player (fair at times) keep it about the football and nothing personal and all good.

I think apart from the odd overly personal attack on a player/other user the forum is a wonderful place.

Frankly one of the best communities I have found on the internet. Compared to the old Heart forum and various others we are a million times more positive, even in the dark days.

The community is large enough to sustain itself and mantain constant discussion while also small enough to generally self moderate.

Ya want a negative comment?…..Malik Mane is better than the current crop by a rural kilometre 🖕🏼
Feeling this statement required some deep technical analysis from my (paid mind you, I subscribe for the advanced technowizardry) autobot buddy....

I asked chatgpt:
Can you find video of goals scored by Malik Mane for central coast mariners

Malick Mané, a Senegalese forward, joined the Central Coast Mariners on loan from IFK Göteborg in July 2014. During his brief tenure with the Mariners, he made four A-League appearances but did not score any goals. Consequently, there are no available videos of him scoring for the Central Coast Mariners.

What is a rural kilometer in Australian slang

In Australian slang, a "country mile" refers to a distance that feels significantly longer than it actually is. This term is used to describe the perception that distances in rural or outback areas seem to stretch on endlessly, often due to the vast and open landscapes. For example, if someone says, "The next town is just a country mile away," it implies that the town is farther than one might expect.

Hey it's pretty spot on!

It’s hard to be abusive/overly negative for any extended period of time (as others have noted), good community regulation.

I fall on the side of looking for the positives because there’s enough shit to deal with outside ccm, this club will always make me smile. I do balance my delusions with defeated pessimism though; I watch every game because we’re the best club and community on the planet, but there’s always just enough time left to lose by 1.
