ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I feel so sorry for the poor bastards in the Ukraine who will now have to fight with both hands tied behind their backs. Trump will probably cut arms supplies. Time for Albo to send them everything that we can

It’s in America’s and Trump’s mates’ interest to keep wars going. The arms industry has certainly thrived and help make Merica one of the strongest economies in the world.

Any conflict cessation coupled with tariffs and new trade wars will adversely impact their economy. Add unsustainable tax cuts to the wealthiest and it all could go pear shaped quickly, especially inflation which the Democrats did ever so well to control. Something we haven’t done in Australia yet.

The problem here is that you are being logical. Remember this is Trump we are talking about ;)
I can see him cutting support for Ukraine because he said he would stop the war [and that would certainly make Ukraine reconsider negotiating-They'd probably be asked to cede the russified eastern provinces]

He is a narcissist clown with no idea of what makes an economy run. Another worry is Musk's new role gutting the administration and running it on the lines of X

You are probably right. In the same vein he is just as likely to pick a fight with Russia.

Gaza, though, will be razed to the ground.

With Musk, I am no conspiracy theorist, but he has more means and access to technology than others, to rig an election. Especially when facing the prospect of conviction.

This is the part I don't get. The commentary all says that the stock market will do well i.e. the traders. Fair enough.

But the other part of the commentary said that small businesses (of which there are hundreds of thousands) didn't like the dems increased wages, child care etc and their capital gains changes and these 'aspirational voters' avoided the dems in droves.

The only problems with then voting for high end tax cuts, massive deportations (customers) higher tariffs (and hence higher price and inflation) and lower wages is that people won't be able to afford to shop at your small business and you won't get a capital gain when selling your business because no one will be buying failing businesses.

It may work out - and I hope it does. If America has what some have predicted a sharp downturn in GDP then most economies around the world will suffer.

What is clear is that the dems have a heap of work to do to re-connect with the electorate. Their old coalition of quite different demographics is no longer working. To quote James Carville 'It's the economy, stupid!'. People's concern was the economy. The dems seemed to have this as a lower tier issue and just wanted to talk about dictators and abortion.

A higher stock market is not necessarily indicative of a healthy economy or a healthy society. It just equates to higher corporate profits, and we know trickle down economics is actually not a thing.

With only a heap of votes (around 7M) to count in California it is telling how large the drift away from the dems is. Some went to third parties but most simply didn't turn up to vote. The dems will probably end up around 72M and Trump around 75.5M. So he will have built by over 1M and the dems will have gone backwards by over 9M.

What’s the thoughts on Labor trying (well successfully) to push the disinformation bill through the house of reps while the usa election was on. Seems a little sneaky to me. Going to be interesting how they administer that if it gets through the senate.

Kids will find away and lots of parents will probably help the kids with the no social media for under 16.
Feels to late to me. They are all hooked or used as baby sitting

There are so many reasons Kamala didn't win.

Have a look at Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle for some clues. Dem destroyed cesspits.

Having a nose piercing, died hair and a Rainbow coloured PLO t-shirt doesn't make you a good civic leader.

I also think absolute shit fight that the UK has become under Labour in just a few short weeks didn't go un-noticed around the globe.

How did the democrats 'destroy' these places [and what does that even mean]? Genuinely interested. I mean did they change in some way after the trump1.0 regime or Bush presidencies?

I didnt notice her nose piercing, trump dyes HIS hair, and I agree anyone who wears a tee shirt supporting terrorism is stupid. Was this when she was a student? [Students do stupid things that they regret when they grow up.]

A better civic leader?
An entitled narcissist nepo who blames everyone else but himself when things go pear shaped.
OR
Someone who ISNT an ignorant, incompetent, malicious, convicted felon, tax dodging, draft dodging lying pal of putin.

As a successful and respected prosecutor I would put my trust in Harris.
I dont think Trump understands the trust placed in him by americans to serve THEM [not himself].

Before spending my time watching a series of clips on the negatives of american society are you saying that these are solely the result of the Biden/Harris government? ie nothing to do with state or city policies and did not exist or begin to develop during a republican federal government?

Did I miss something in that Harris lost the vote in the three areas you listed?

Not solely. Certainly exacerbated under Dems control.
