Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hutch's Sliding Tackles

And what of Rostyn last night - not so much the foul on McKay but the afters were pretty ugly.

Actually I was expecting McKay to be booked for kicking out and wrestling Griffiths, stopping him from stepping away. Card went other way as did a few more bit over the came Beath woke up to the Roar's devious antics and starting to even it out a bit.

Agree, thought McKay was holding onto his leg.

As for massive over reaction thats your opinion Dibo.

And your entitled to it.

As I am.

Yes he should have been sent for the second tackle - though I like strong play and hate all the whining that goes on by many fans across the aleague - but I agree that two footed tackles do not serve the game or its players.

But I'm also not into branding any mariner as a hack. Let alone a foundation player who has served us well so many times for so many years. Opinions are fine, and I like many of your posts scottmac, but imo you seem far too emotional and spiteful in this instance.

Dibo was correct - Hutch was key in our link play and arguably our of our few remotely effective players.
)Weemac clearly the pick of the bunch.)
Fact is Hutch obviously hates being dominated like we were, clearly it stings his pride. This is a good thing. I wish a few others were less content to be dominated. Griffiths ironically, in particular.
However getting too aggro and getting your self sent as he should have been is not the best way I think either. However as to - punt him to the youth league? Griffiths was bloody awful last night and I'm not at all convinced that he is our first choice DM as so many are. And for what its worth, if theres one position you need to be hard in, it's your bloody DM.

There's a difference between being hard and flying off your feet at any opportunity. Jedi was hard. Hutch needs to learn to stay on his feet. His first instinct is to fly in feet first more often than not.

Sorry but players like that inevitably cause serious injuries.

He is a f**kin hack and besides that he cant play the football we want to play. When all you've got going for you is your "toughness" then its time to f**k off to Malta and play in the local league there.

It was a 2 footed lunge off the ball and he deserves a ban. Can't wait to see the back of him, the team is much better without him.

5:50

Can't agree at all. A booking at worse. Personally i'd have given a free kick without a card. Its not bloody netball.

Good to see the way some people treat our foundation players..

the tackle was fine, didn't lunge in, studs weren't raised, Broich was not injured..at all.

Last time I watched footballers still wore shorts not skirts.

the tackle at 5.50 was the one he was carded for, and it's a card, sure, but it's by no means the worst tackle you'll ever see. other mariners make tackles like that from time to time and nobody blinks twice. yellow card, move on.

the one at 6.40 is much worse. no question there. it's a bad tackle. studs are exposed, he's left his feet from a distance away. frankly at best it's a very dark orange shade of yellow. but we've had players sent off before without half the bullshit - hence my view that it's an overreaction.

Interestingly i found the brisbane player reaction to the griffiths/mackay incedent was stronger than hutchs second tackle maybe because mackay caused half the problem and they were trying to deflect the blame

so can the MRP ping hutch any further for that tackle??...

They met today and it wasn't dealt with.

Straka got his ban confirmed - so Middleby, the goalkeeper coach, and way for it, Mark Bosnich are coaching them for the next game.
