How do you solve a problem like Kim???

What should Moss do?

So we have a player in Kim that is clearly not performing and now has been benched for the past two weeks. Talk of a fall out between him and Moss. He is on big money and probably our highest paid player on probably over $400k per year.

Moss has replaced him on the field with a state league player (Tricky) that is arguably equal to or better him on minimum wages (about $50k).

He is clearly not cutting it as a number 10 and appears to need a little more time on the ball. He gets knocked over too much and appears to dive a lot.

Should he play out on the left wing like he has done most of his career? Or should Moss just keep him benched until he spits the dummy and wants to g home? Or cut our losses and cut him loose ASAP?

What should Moss do?

Play him right mid, that's were he has played most of his career and IMO were he does damage...

Let me roll the joint and take a few draws... OK in the famous words of Lisa and Bart ""' Are we there Yet""' answer no BUT this is worth considering .. IMO this is technically our best side does it have size at the back ???? .... does it have that mongrel in the side ????? I saw close to this side in the pre-season when we played the Jerks ... the ball control and off the ball running and communication was excellent... Ok goes back into the padded room... HOWEVER technically it would be a great side ... also very very very young...

Storm... Posco ... Neil .... Rose

Kim ..... Vernes .... Mane...

Play him as an OA player in the NYL for a few weeks in various positions & see what position he works best at
This is probably the answer. I seem to recall in his statement on signing with CCM that he was pleased to accept a new challenge as he felt he wasn't performing and was only going through the motions and had become complacent and that he would change with CCM, or words to that effect.

It's a hard one. he is obviously technically head and shoulders above most of the rest of the squad. He just seems to lack the mongrel and desire to succeed. I hope i'm wrong. I would like to see him have a run on the wing, either side....but at the expense of who? Once Vernes and Matty are fully fit it will be much harder to break into the side, he has a real battle on his hands to even get on the bench right now.

And to raise an ugly point, he doesn't speak much English, does he? I would think that it would be quite hard for the coaching staff/senior players to impart any game plans etc. in a totally understandable form. I don't deny that he is an experienced and talented player, probably worth persisting with. But I think he needs a real shake up to get him in the A-League mindset, to get him some mongrel, and a stint in our NYL team as an OA player may just do it. Would certainly put the frighteners in him, and may just do the job.

Sorry I have to disagree with most of your post. From all the footage and player pride website he has been a left wing player. He can play right but it's not his strongest.

Your lineup is way to youth focussed. You can't leave both Hutch and Monty out of the site. Experience counts for a lot. Neill is not a CB. If he played next to Posco we would have a very bad height disadvantage.

Would like to see what Vernes can do at 10 though.

give him a few games at left mid
if he doesnt cut it, cut him off the payroll

You can't cut him off the payroll as he has a contract.

Try him on the left wing, which most people seam to agree is his best spot.....if he doesn't hold down the spot then he will be a lot more dangerous off the bench than Sim.

He is useless and I don't like him. Get rid of him. Shows little to no passion for the club, flops way too often despite his size, far too inconsistent.

Practicalities are difficult - even if we actually *decide* as a club that we want him gone, we're really stuck with him until someone else wants him or we're paying out his contract. If we pay him out, we still cop all the pain on the salary cap but we get nothing in return. There's not a lot of point.

Until that point you muddle through and see where best he can be utilised.

The contract difficulties are self evident, I think. He *could* ask for a release without penalty to CCM though, couldn't he? If he were sent back to the NYL boot camp for long enough he would either come good or ask for a release. After all, pay and conditions aside, isn't part of the footballers psyche given over to succeeding at their trade at the top level and getting the adulation of the fans and the respect of their peers? If that were taken away from him pending improvement in certain performance indicators the incentives would all rest with him. He would either succeed and be welcomed back to the top level or he would fail and fade away at minimal cost to the club.

Dear Kim,
As you aware, you are now in the second year of your contract & the honeymoon period has now passed.
Since you began with us you have shown little to no interest in the games you have played, which is of great concern.

Maybe you don`t realise what we expect of you.
If that is the case please go to YOUTUBE & look at any Matty Simon film clip.
We don`t expect you to be as good as Ronaldo.
We don`t expect you to be as good as anyone for that matter.
What we do expect, is that you be the best you possibly can be when you play for our club.

That means growing a heart, rolling up your sleaves & having a bloody go.
Forget the diving, forget going to ground as soon as someone comes near you & forget anything else which portrays you in a negative way.

It really would be a shame for you to be the highest paid player on the bench in youth league.

Kindest regards

Bench for NYL until he gets the hint and works out a release/return to Korea.

fine him heavily for every sulky dummy spit

Problem will solve itself.

rinse and repeat for Mane

I don't know about solving the current problem but for next time our scouts/recruiters whatever need to do a better job.
The imports in other teams are match winners - Marinkovic, Keogh, Carrusca, and the list goes on, our imports struggle to make the starting 11.
It's just not a good enough return for what little money we have.
