Mariners kickoff Round 6 of the A-league hosting a Perth Glory side who finally won a game in Version 4 of the A-League after keeping a clean sheet for the first time in 18 matches. The Mariners come from having a heartbreaking draw last start at BlueTongue with Archie Thompson shattering the Mariners in the final seconds of the game. Kickoff is at 8pm, NYL- 5.15pm.
Adelaide host Newcastle on Saturday night at Hindmarsh Stadium. The Jets come off a 1 nil victory against the Roar in what was arguably one of the worst matches in the A-Leagues short history with Joel Griffiths snatching an 84th minute winner. Adelaide have continued their travels midweek with hosting Kashima in the ACL. They put out a second string squad last week against Sydney what will Vidmar do this week? Kickoff 7pm, NYL-4.15.
Game 3 of the weekend sees the underperforming Wellington side host joint leaders Sydney FC. So much was promised for Wellington this season after losing the Pre-season Cup final. But this has disappeared and now they are fighting to stay in contention to make the finals after 5 rounds. Sydney on the other hand are unbeaten but have always struggled with the side from Wellington and are desperate to keep this unbeaten start to the season in tact. Kickoff-2pm. No NYL
Finally game of Round 6 sees the undisciplined Melbourne Victory host an out of sorts Qld Roar. The Roar might enjoy the change of scenery after the way they have performed at home this season with an inability to find the back of the net. Meanwhile the Victory have been down to 10 men for two games in a row and Ernie Merrick will pull his hair out if he sees red this weekend. Kickoff- 5pm, NYL- Friday 3.30pm.
Tips
Mariners- McKinna would have been counting on 3 points in this match.
Adelaide- Very good at home.
Wellington- Sydney always struggle against Wellington.
Qld- Best away side in the league and they will need to be as they don't get points at home.
