HAL Round 6 Mariners v Perth

Mariners kickoff Round 6 of the A-league hosting a Perth Glory side who finally won a game in Version 4 of the A-League after keeping a clean sheet for the first time in 18 matches. The Mariners come from having a heartbreaking draw last start at BlueTongue with Archie Thompson shattering the Mariners in the final seconds of the game. Kickoff is at 8pm, NYL- 5.15pm.

Adelaide host Newcastle on Saturday night at Hindmarsh Stadium. The Jets come off a 1 nil victory against the Roar in what was arguably one of the worst matches in the A-Leagues short history with Joel Griffiths snatching an 84th minute winner. Adelaide have continued their travels midweek with hosting Kashima in the ACL. They put out a second string squad last week against Sydney what will Vidmar do this week? Kickoff 7pm, NYL-4.15.

Game 3 of the weekend sees the underperforming Wellington side host joint leaders Sydney FC. So much was promised for Wellington this season after losing the Pre-season Cup final. But this has disappeared and now they are fighting to stay in contention to make the finals after 5 rounds. Sydney on the other hand are unbeaten but have always struggled with the side from Wellington and are desperate to keep this unbeaten start to the season in tact. Kickoff-2pm. No NYL

Finally game of Round 6 sees the undisciplined Melbourne Victory host an out of sorts Qld Roar. The Roar might enjoy the change of scenery after the way they have performed at home this season with an inability to find the back of the net. Meanwhile the Victory have been down to 10 men for two games in a row and Ernie Merrick will pull his hair out if he sees red this weekend. Kickoff- 5pm, NYL- Friday 3.30pm.

Tips
Mariners- McKinna would have been counting on 3 points in this match.
Adelaide- Very good at home.
Wellington- Sydney always struggle against Wellington.
Qld- Best away side in the league and they will need to be as they don't get points at home.

We will start as v short priced favourites and so we should be.

1-0 will do as 3 points matter more than how many we score.

If Jedi closes down Dadi then its goona be game over.

I think for everyones sake cept perth we need to punish them and prove the buys can finish teams off when there down hopefully they show some killer instinct and go for the throat
4-1 the back line will find a way to concide 4-1 minimum!!!!!!!!!!!

"the undisciplined Melbourne Victory"?

Don't you mean "the needlessly targeted by the FFA so that Sydney don't fall too far behind Melbourne Victory"?

If you took that seriously, I feel sorry for you keensy.

That said, it's a shame Theo didn't kick Saso a bit harder. The additional ban might be justified then.

It will be interesting to see what you say when Brad Porter gets a 9 match ban for being a dribbler due to his advanced down syndrome.

There will be no fair play award for Melbourne this year

True. I guess we'll have to be content with three trophies instead.

long season mate, no telling what may happen before the end.

Not that long. We're about a quarter through already.

And down one player and who knows how many more before the seasons end

Guns i wouldn't be getting so cocky we pushed Melbourne all the way in fact we were the first team to score against you this season. Melbourne would fear the Mariners if they played them in the finals.

Do I have to sing the "Two grand finals, scored no goals" song again?

Two down, actually... and we have barely blinked an eyelid. Not bad considering the two players gone are arguably two of the most influential players on the park.

We score against you everytime! The undisciplined nature of your squad from the leader Muscat down is poor and you see more red cards than anyone else. I can see you winning the most red card award!!!!

One day we will break this hoodoo of not beating 10men and when we do it will probably be against you guys in the finals. We just have no luck!
