Was just discussing that with Adz - it seems the "official" places are ludicrously more expensive than the "side deal" places.  To the tune of a few hundred percent in some cases.

umm, why even bother with accom? anyone who has been there before (adz) can back me up here, there is MORE than enough to keep you occupied during the night hours, and the beach makes for an awesome bed at other times

I'm doing that one too. Trying to convince Dane and the boys to hit it up with me for a few days, as I wanna go up for my birthday. It fits in nicely.

i live up here on the goldcoast.
despite schoolies there will be plenty of accomodation available just not in surfers itself unless your willing to pay the big $$ to stay in chevron or Q1. the whole coast is lined with accomodation so imho if ur reason for not making the trip is due to accomodation ur soft haha.
club entry covercharges will be ridiculous as usual (not for me but. free entry. thankyou griffith university haha)
cant wait for the game

A few thousand 18 year olds is a much bigger put off than accomodation costs.

its fantastic normally, will be even better on a game day imo

sunbus (i think its called) runs busses to almost everywhere on the gold coast every 10 minutes or so

EDIT: walk or bus to pacific fair or surfers, change busses there
