ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Give Nik another go

I've already forgiven.
It's a ruthless sport. And two knee ops and the shit he's been given for his poor form, has obviously been anything but easy street for him.

Simple 3 step plan now...
1. Play from your heart not your head.
2. Score buckets of goals.
3. Become Mariners legend by helping win championship.

Be fantastic to remember Nik not as the striker who took us to hell, but as the player who eventually bounced back and took us to toilet seat heaven.

He has given us a glimmer of hope that he has turned himself around however I am reminded of a famous saying ...."One Swallow does not a summer make"

If Nik keeps this form going, Iguanas might have to shut up shop!!

Lets give him a few more games, before we start singing his praise.

One thing, will he stick around if he has a great season or will be loose him to Heart or sydney?
He is a rsik to anyone but I can't see the mariners offering him a fat pay check, no matter what form he is in.

IMO, he should play a season without pay to even things up a bit.

His first true test should be on Friday night against Todd and Coyne. If we are still singing his praises after the game then his re-emergance from the darkness is then a distinct possibility.

He's back. It's not his goals that has me convinced, it was his mental state and attitude.
How he does for the rest of the season will be what it is.
He may have off days again, but I don't think he will lose focus again anytime soon.

Early on in the game on Saturday night, Mrdja got the ball in a position where scoring would have been difficult and passed it back to a teammate, keeping the ball alive and in our posession. A month ago, he'd have taken a shot and missed by a mile.

TNH, Nik's first goal would normally have been a set piece fail but the wall was totally pathetic. The second was nice though. Lets hope he can build on that.

Or trod on it and fallen over. Isn't it amazing how just one goal, even in a lower standard comp, can build your confidence and your playing standard?
