ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Fundraising for Togo Orphanage

Well done Bikini Girl.
Well done Mariners.
I would love to see a you tube video of the kids getting the package.

BG really is a wonder - she has done an incredible amount of work on this, and Wombat, you have been incredibly generous (as have all those that donated).

And the club deserves a big shout out - they have gone out of their way to help a bunch of underprivileged kids on the other side of the world!

I've just written an email to "Mama'' (who runs the orphanage) to let her know of the package. I'm hoping Mama can understand my email as my French writing skills are poor (and translation programmes do not help frankly). I'm sure the kids will be very excited to receive the clothing and footballs, while Mama will be very excited to receive the toothbrushes, baby bottles etc that BG is buying.

I too would love to see a video of the kids in Mariners gear, but no-one at the orphanage has an IPhone or video camera. I used my Iphone to record the kids when I was there, but I don't know if there will be any volunteers around when the package arrives. Of course I will ask.

. well i've been out shopping today following discussions with Fishsdad yesterday on what else to buy to include in the package ... so we are getting really close now

. i have attached a couple of photos ... but keep in mind this is only a sample of the things we have been able to pull together (approx. 15.5kg in total)

. thanks to all those that have donated including:
  • Wombat and East Gosford Thai Massage
  • the Central Coast Mariners Football Club
  • Baby Bunting @ West Gosford (thanks Kaylie)
  • Blooms Chemist @ Erina (the Pharmacist gave us a further 20% discounted items after we explained the reason for our purchase)
. we now have Mariners clothing, footballs and pumps, nappies, babies bottles, toothbrushes - where possible we have bought things in blue and yellow and have decorated many of the items with Mariners stickers (hopefully they hold)

. Ok parcel of 15.6g has just been posted at Australia Post today. It has been sent Air International with insurance and can take from 3-7 business day. So hopefully this will be a good Christmas present for all.

"Mama" from the Orphanage has just sent me an email - package received and the kids are thrilled! She even wrote in English...

Hello Mr and Mrs [Fishsdad],

We are so happy yesterday when we receive a call from DHL for the items you send to the childreen. Yope you are all fine, as for us we are fine and Mar went back home and now we have Anne Le Morvan from France. Thank you so much annd to your friend [BG]. We love you and our greetings to all and merry christam in advance."

Unfortunately the volunteer that I knew (Mar) has left, but apparently there is another volunteer. I will contact her and ask if she is able to take any video of the kids in the gear.

Can I say a huge thank you to all of those that donated, I still intend to buy each and every one of you a drink - the very least I can do.

A big shout out to the Mariners - thank you!

And to BG - what can I say? She has done everything from go to whoa - she deserves a medal!!!

For me.....im proud of Fishsdad being involved in the first place.......before any of us had even heard of Togo.
Then im proud of Atomic raising my interest and thinking of how I can support.
Then I'm proud of BK who drove the whole think forward. This lady is so nice and bleeds yellow.
Then to the kind people that donated .....god bless.
And to Monty and the club for backing the effort....well done.

I can promise you.... Your kindness will be repaid by the universe.

cheers
