ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I've just noticed that on the front page it says that the Marinators are the "Unofficial" supporter group of the Mariners. It would seem to me that the Marinators have a stronger claim than any other group to be the "Official" supporters group. Is the status (unofficial vs official) something that is important to the Marinators? In my opinion, the Marinators should seek to have the title of OFFICIAL supporter group of the Central Coast Mariners  :eek:verhead:

Nope, any official supporters club will be set up by the club and would include many that don't consider themselves marinators. While we have general support from the club for what we do, it is a separation that is needed in case anything happens that they want to be distanced from.

In a way the members are the official supporters club, they get priority from the club for finals tickets and extra access to the players at post match functions and if it ever comes to it first access to tickets for away games.

Any chance of getting the list of recent forum activity back on the home page?

Go to the forum front page, and there's a link down the bottom which if clicked on allows you to View the most recent posts on the forum.

I personally much prefer the Show unread posts since last visit, Show new replies to your posts and best of all All unread topics options.

Thanks, I use those. It was only a small thing but I liked having it on the front page and thought it was a neat addition, obviously more important to have the About Us type info on the front page and I can appreciate that.

Cheers

okay they are back ;D

I originally took them down (and everything else on the front page) trying to hunt down the cause of the slow load time, but since it's not doing any harm it can go back on

might shuffle things around a bit too as a couple of things are added to the front page

Thanks, I missed them. I didn't want to complain due to the amount of effort you must have put into the new format, but I find it easier with the Latest Topics window on the front page. Great job! It looks fantastic.

you might need to add &type=rss to get these to work

just on the topic of 'unofficial' support clubs in Turkey the team 'Galatasaray S.K.' have a supporters group called the ultrAslan, the supporters group became so big that they were able to became a registered trademark with the ultrAslan gear even becoming more popular than 'official' Galatasaray gear.

Only a few years ago the club was in danger of going bankrupt so the founders of the the ultrAslan gave the club the trademark so they could 'officially' sell the ultr gear which saved the club financial which is why they are still around today!!

About the homepage i think the google Java map could slow down load time as well, perhaps a new page called 'where' or something would be beneficial to the dial up/repeat visitors.
