With the season now over, its time to reflect on the year that was.
What were your five favourite mariner moments of the year.

5. Matt Simon's first goal vs Newcastle, RD 1.
4. 3-3 with Adelaide (come back from 3-0 down)
3. Coming from 3 behind (once again) verse Sydney
2. Beating the Jets at home, 1-0, with Dylan MacAllister scoring.

1. BOXING DAY '08. Coming from 1 down to beat our bitter rivals, Matt Simon scoring the winner and a flare.

I'm gonna be technical and take "year" literally 

i). Super Sunday in the Kendall.  Feelings like that in football cannot be beaten

ii). 3-3 in Sydney

iii). Boxing Day in Newcastle

iv). Post game both times in Brisbane (the 4-2 and the semi).  Those who were there know why.

v). Watching the Mariners from overseas (Australia Network in Hong Kong).  Never thought I'd see the day.

1. The weekend in BrisVegas. A 4-2 win, just being at Lang Park, the Calypso Bar in Caxton St, having a beer before a game, the look on the Roar fans faces when we stuck it up them about GCU getting the nod, fluking the location of the Irish Bar, being in said Irish Bar before and during an Old Firm Derby (WOW), seeing how big RiverFi actually is, chatting with Mike Cockerill at the airport, discovering that BrisVegas is not such a hole. Yes James, post game was GREAT.

2. The ACL draw. Like going through that circular thingy in "Stargate". Positively thrilling seeing us stepping into Asia. A complete honour, a thrill, what more can I say?

3. 3-3 in Sydney. A great game, wonderful comeback, and I still love watching Football at that place.

4. The comeback in Adelaide, and being in the Club for it. To quote the incomparable Dan Harker, "3-0, and you F***ed it up".

5. Taking 7 points away from the F3 Derbies. Not to be underestimated.

Out of all the people whom I'd ever have said "yeah, they'll drag themselves out of hospital for a Mariners game no matter what" you were top of the list.

Best Moment of the Season for me was the 3-3 draw in Adelaide Round 7.
Quality game of football and the Mariners had chances to claim an amazing victory after trailing 3 nil after 50 mins. It was an amazing atmosphere in Hindmarsh that night following on the back of their ACL victory against Kashima. Great night for Australian football.

Other Highlight was seeing one of the best Australian keepers of all time Mark 'Bozza' Bosnich wearing the colours of the Mariners and saving a penalty in the pre-season cup against Steve Corica.

Other notable mentions
- Matt Simon's first goal against Newcastle.
- Jedinak destroying Perth at home with a superb free kick and leading the time to be 4 nil up after 50 minutes before being replaced with a head injury.
-Maccas cameo against QLD round 4 and the 4-2 against the Roar.
-Stuffing the Scum and Smurfs in derby games.
- Hutcho's and Gumps screamers from outside the area.

All in all not a bad season by our boys.
