My two bob's worth is that I don't mind the Finals series... it is an exciting time for all concerned and certainly throws up the opportunity for a team finishing 4th in the League to grab some glory at the end of the season. However... I believe the Finals needs to be recognised for exactly what it is ie just a post season tournament where the teams who came 2nd to 4th in the league have a chance to have a moment in the sun. In my opinion, not enough recognition is given in this country to the League Champions for their efforts in winning the hard slog of home/way fixtures over a whole season. To infer a team who wins the GF to be the 'Premiers' and Champions is complete shite. Unfortunately the Australian way is to place the GF winers as the best. At least the A-League is trying to change things by ponouncing the League winners as Premiers although I'd rather see the league winners pronounced Champions and GF winners as simply that... Grand Final Winners.
