In the past it would have been guaranteed that they would of copped a hello from one of the backs but not under this team.

They will fight hard but not any where near as physical as past Aussie teams. There are no PEPE's (Loose there head) in our team or leg breaking beasts at the back. We are actually pretty fragile so we will see.

We will have a go down the wings but none of them have the ability to cut into the box like Robben.

All our players are under strict orders. Under all circumstances even if he has been subbed off. Kick it in the air to Timmy & if that fails try again & if that fails try again & if that fails go home you are out of the world cup.

Nothing to be scarred of. Our defence is weak & suspect against through balls, speed or basically any ball near our box.

Our strikers can't shoot, our winger can't cross.

But Timmy can head. Our strength is Timmy only & maybe set piece like corners.

Overall we will play hard but dumb.

We have heart but lack skill. We don't have the class players like Robben or RVP required at a World Cup

Our new right back is a central defender who want be motoring up the sides like the one we lost to injury. He is a sitting duck who should be exploited.

Any reason players like Bozanic, Danny De Silva or Ibini aren't called for the squad? Always thought those CMM players could bring some creativity to the socceroos, and if you get signed at such a young age at Roma, you have got to have some skills to offer?

As sydmariner said, Bozanic is in the squad. De Silva is a rough diamond and needs time and experience before he steps up to the national team and Ibini has Kruse and Leckie in front of him.

We just seemed to lack that bit of class and a full 90 minute game.

Up 2-1 and as Ange said both their second half goals were preventable. Their second Davidson lagging behind the rest of the backline kept the Dutch onside. That was also the case in one of the Chile goals and that flaw must be corrected. Their third Maty should have done better.

But it wasn't only in defence. How different it could have been. At 2-1 up Timmy passed wide to McKay on the left when Ollie was unmarked on his right in front of goal. Then Tommy chose to pass to Leckie, if the ball had been to his feet or his head that surely would have been a goal. All that happened before their second goal. We could easily and really should have been up 4-1.

Obviously the re-generated Socceroos are a work in progress but the signs are good.

So close but so far.

Mat just hasn't looked good in either game. While the ball did move he should have saved it.

Leckie should have jumped and hit with left foot volley or dive header.

Awesome effort but things go wrong at crucial times.

Should of buried them after 2-1.

Timmy goal made getting up worth it on its own.

So proud but so disappointed. They were there for the taking.

Robben would not have passed the ball in the same situation; it was a bizarre decision. Mind you, if he had found Leckie's head or foot it would have been so different!
Bresciano should have got his shot on target after great build up in the first half; Spira could easily have scored with more composure.
Ryan again showed a weakness which hopefully he will learn from; Wilko made one error and it was punished; Jedi was a rock, and Ollie surprised, he did well.
I loved how Ange has the Socceroos playing the Australian way: confident and on the front foot, completely unafraid of the opposition. With the likes of Sainsbury, Good, Rogic, Amini, Kruse, Williams, Juric and probably others I can't think of right now the future looks good, and exciting!

As sydmariner said, Bozanic is in the squad. De Silva is a rough diamond and needs time and experience before he steps up to the national team and Ibini has Kruse and Leckie in front of him.

After the last 2 games, I'm not so sure he does have Leckie in front of him.

Ibini will get to international status, but he has a lot of maturing to do. No more of his 'I've scored a goal, I can go home now' BS.

Ryan just looked way too nervous in both games, I think that's what caused his mistakes. Give him another 4 years of international football.

So far I'm very, very unconvinced with Oar and Leckie up front. And don't get me started on Oar's shot to Leckie followed up by Leckie's diving chest. Too many critical errors. We can control a match, but all we need to do is fix those errors. Worst part was, the Dutch were making them too, but the could actually capitalise on ours.

Good to see that we don't play thuggish football anymore. Heck, we're probably one of the cleaner sides - though every so often you need somebody like Jedinak to come in with his best impression of a chainsaw.
