for me PES 5 (2006) was unbelievable for its time! Pes6 (2007) was almost as good...after that they just couldnt keep it up. I have converted to Fifa since last year (Fifa09), and just cant bear to look back (although they have Egypt in national team mode...but i just cant justify spending heaps of money for just 1 reason!)
I once upon a time, defended PES to the greatest depths on this forum (and in 2008 IMHO I still hold the beliefs), but now 4 years down the track...it is definately questionable. Fifa09 almost rid Pes5/6 from ym memory...Fifa10 (when I finally buy it) looks like it will shut that door once and for all!

PES 6 is still far greater than fifa10. Pes 10 is still greater than fifa10

Sorry mate, your flogging a dead horse. You can prefer your ancient PES but thats all it is, personal preference.

I was, as you are, a dedicated PES man and wouldn't even look at the Fifa series. For the last 3 releases i have bought both, and played both due to the absolutley woeful excuse for a game that was PES 08.

PES 08 i took back, 09 I played a few times, and 10 still doesnt fix the ground lost since 06. Master League was the only reason i bought 09 and now with the improved Management mode and Live season in Fifa 10, i dont know why i even bought PES this year. Old habits die hard and its probably only PES 06 that keeps me coming back.

Fifa on the other hand has got better and better and better, and continues to think of new additions. Ultimate team for example was brilliant and i could still be playing 09 quite happily. Be A Pro is like having a totally different game along for the ride.

I understand your attachment but it doesn't excuse you from spruking a game 4 years old as being superior to a next generation game.

FIFA games are slow and predictable. I would love to play as the mariners, but find the gameplay so boring and slow. Newer PES are slower than previous, but still much faster than EA.

There won't be an online option sorry.

Leave it with Charles and I, if it gets the green light we'll post details regarding prizes and rules etc.  IMO 4 min halves are long enough, 1 on 1 would be best but if a lot of people wish to play we may have to look at 2 v 2, we will let everyone know.

To join the debate of which is best, I used to be a PES man but was disappointed with PES 5 and 6, not much changed.  FIFA 09 on the PS3 won me back and FIFA 10 on PS3 is a much better game.  Can't say I've played recent PES games to compare.

Played FIFA on both PS3 and Xbox, not much difference really but personally I prefer PS3.

You could almost always score from a kick off in FIFA 02.

I spoke to a few places in regards to getting copies/systems...unfort as it was around Christmas, they didn't really have time to get too involved. I think would be great for something to start on for next season though.

Thanks poko. I agree we will do it next season. it gives us a chance to make it big with great prizes.Time is against us. So we will make this one of the best comps yet.
