ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Farewell Rizzo... and thanks

I'd be in it.  Put me up against Musc**t or Tiatto.  One of us would be carried off (most likely me) but it would be fun swapping rash two footed challenges with those idiots.

That's about as much as I'd be good for - a lot of swearing, sledging and a decent punch up! Man, I'd love to give Tiatto or Muscat a decent hit I'm about 20 kilos heavier than them so if I throw my shoulder behind the punch they'd feel it. Mind you, I'd give Jamie McMaster a call first to find out how to rev Kevvie up!

Oh, and farewell Rizzo, I understand that you didn't make the pitch in a game in the ACL, but look at it this way - you don't have to explain why the Mariners were so poor in the ACL as you didn't play a game! Best of luck for the future.

hmmm....
if sydney are looking for a left sided player why no that iraqi guy?
iraqi guy would be same $$$ if not cheaper, + better prospect (yet a bit more of a gamble)...seems kind of silly on Sydneys part

Way OT, but I understand this guy you may be thinking about has only just got a clearance from FIFA/ Iraqi Association, and an article I saw about him suggested he's a little light for the physicality of the A-League.
BTW, was he a regular for the Iraqi Olympic squad or just making up numbers?

regular! He was also part of squad at Asian Cup
So pretty decent player

yes he is slight- hence the risk...but the promise- thats worth it. I think he could be better than Rizzo

I think (pray) Rizzo is just filling gaps for us whilst we have a small squad waiting for people to come back in to the mix.

He's not done well enough to look at a deal anyway.

It's all talk. No one who's actually seen him play recently for Marconi has rated him a decent enough prospect of stepping up. Apparently has no right foot, shirks tackles, and generally doesn't get involved enough. A good left foot alone wont' do it.

Even worse in his favour is he refuses to trial. Combine that without standing out superbly at NSWPL level and he's not going anywhere.

FNSW today:

"TeleChoice Premier League outfit Sydney Tigers have secured the services of former Australian international Nick Rizzo until the end of the season and will make his debut against Manly United this Sunday at Cromer Park at 3pm."

Sydney Tigers are what was APIA Leichhardt
