ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Don't say you weren't warned...

No absurd then a championship team winning the FA Cup and going to European competition.

YES IT IS.

No championship team can just win 3 games to be in the FA cup final and then lose the final, but still get to go to Europa.
That would also be an absolute farce.

Winning three games in a row, then losing a fourth, in a tight ten team comp with a salary cap on all teams, is not a big achievement, and anything but worthy of getting a coveted ACL spot for. Especially if over 30 games you just finished 6th out of the ten - or 4th as the case may be.

And I'm sorry Mick but this is so far from the massive achievement of winning an FA cup as to be laughable in comparison. Let alone if you can pull it off as a championship side.

If ROAR win the double, The only just thing is that the second ACL spot should go to whoever finished second over the course of the whole season and not whoever may have potentially jagged there way into a finals with 3 wins to then lose it.

And I would be saying this regardless of where we finished personally.

. just as I don't remember too many complaints about missing the acl when we lost the gf in v1 after qualifying from a lower position

. the fact that sydney should have been disqualified for salary cap breaches is another thing altogether :naughty:

I'm more focused and concerned on trying to reach the GF then worrying about whether we'll be in the ACL next year.

Playing in the ACL is very expensive for our little club anyway!

Mate i can honestly say as a GCU fan, i have been thinking about this and wondering if there will be bias towards us. For football's sake im hoping there isnt, but its hard to turn a blind eye to the bias refs sometimes.
I think it was clear that against Adelaide, the ref was giving weak free kicks (and penalties) against us and im hoping that had nothing to do with the fact that the FFA would want one team going through over another. While i know it is a better image to have the teams with the most fans in finals, thats not how football is!

Id rather see a fair game from the ref on saturday rather than bias towards us!

Good call mate and welcome to the forum.
I too believe a team should be playing another team of 11 not 12 13 or 14.

We just need to make our own destiny and not let it be decided for us by someone with a whistle.

Thankfully, all proper order has restored itself in the universe. Bring on the Roar! WE'RE ALL GOING ON AN ASIAN HOLIDAY...

A touch of conspiracy when the giant scoreboard showed a Roar v GCU grand final at the end of the game. Ooops! Must have been what they were wishing for. I wonder who cocked up.

. don't worry there was still plenty of food for the conspiracy theorists. for a couple of minutes after the game the 'big screen' was showing details for the grand final ... brisbane vs gold coast :redcard:
