ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

But the FFA does NOT want us in the GF. They want an all-Queensland GF. Every A-League decider since V1 has either been a big rivalry (Sydney vs Melbourne) or a derby (Us vs Scum, Tards vs Adelaide), and there is little doubt the FFA want it to be different this time around. The FFA want to sell the most tickets they can, and in their opinion a Brisbane- Gold Coast decider can do just that. The Broncos are coming off their worst season in the NRL, with the club beset by internal strife (just like the Knights in the 2007 off-season and guess who won the subsequent A-League GF?). The Gold Coast now have the Suns on the market so a Championship for GCU would be VERY nice timing right now. Don't be surprised if the FFA ensures they get the Grand Final they have had planned for a while now. We don't figure in their plans. They hate our success. We have been the spanner in their works since day 1, and they already screwed us over once.

You have been warned...

Thinking that the FFA will fix matches is surely the height of paranoid delusion. There is NOTHING to suggest the FFA has fixed games before, there is NOTHING to suggest they might start now. Tinfoil hat territory.

. all the ffa need to be concerned with is us beating the 'best team in australian football history' ... on their own turf, in the grand final ... which is their showcase event :pirashoot:

I agree that we would get more fans there than GCU's hardcore, but what about the casuals? In a code like ours where the room for error is so high and the ref can have so much influence on a game, I don't think this is as "tinfoil hat" as some might suggest.

I'm no lover of conspiracy theories but we do seem to get the rough end of the pineapple when it comes to dodgy referees. Bojic's tackle on Sat. night was a beauty yet somehow he got pinged?

It wasn't even a tackle. He won the ball before Broich got there. Broich was marginally late and jumped into Pedj then crumpled (as he is known to do) Its just anoying when Refs get it so wrong. Its the same with the tackle with McKay. McKay was the one that was late not Pedj.

A Roar v GCU final would be preferable for filling the stadium, being a local derby. GCU should get 3K plus assorted bandwaggoners, and Brisbane would love to rub Vegas's nose in it, so would pull some extra too.

CCM would be lucky to get 1K travelling, I suspect.

Who f**king cares. We're going to thump GCU and bring back the toilet seat. Let them try stop us. Bring it on!

If the ref was against us, there was a cross into our PA early in the match which struck a defender's hand, but the ref allowed it.

Also, that first caution of the match - forget who it was, studs up challenge to the calf. The ref could well have given it a red.

Not saying I agree with Bojic's card (but I can't find a good replay anyway), but this conspiracy theory business is just stupid.

I don't doubt that the FFA hate us and the MRP are as unethical as they come, but to suggest that the FFA are fixing matches is ridiculous.

The other side of the coin is that the second grand finalist goes to the ACL. Can;t imagine FFA would be thrilled about being represented in such a tournament by a club that plays on a goat track and can only draw a thousand odd people to weekend games. Maybe FFA would prefer us in the final and the decisions will go all our way this week.

Absolute farce. :soapbox:
The idea you could potentially finish sixth, win three, then lose a game and deserve the second preciosu ACL spot is beyond absurd. Wrong on all levels.

No absurd then a championship team winning the FA Cup and going to European competition.

Didn't Portsmouth get a place through the FA Cup despite getting relegated?

Happens all over the world and especially Asia where the "Cup" winner gets a place. If the winner has already qualified then it goes to the other team in the final.

Yes but the fact that Cup winners (or losing Cup finalists) get a place in Europe is traditional, which began with the now defunct Cup-Winners' Cup and carries on into the UEFA Cup now Europa League.

Portsmouth would have qualified for Europe in normal circumstances as FA Cup finalists, but their financial issues coupled to UEFA regulations on that matter meant they had to forfeit their place.

Seriously though, the conspiracy theories that are rife throughout the Australian football community are laughable.
