ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Dissapointed

I know I was in a group that wanted to stand that was right down the front of bay 10 and we kept copping abuse from those behind us……………

That’s where I was too and I was sitting for exactly the same reason. Were you the guy I was speaking to before the game that was waving the gigantic flag?

Nah that wasnt me. I wasnt waving any gigantic flags on sunday

was probably me - i was thinking i'd stay down there and do a bit of capo action and wave the flag for all of our many many goals that we were destined to score and was trying to coordinate a coupla songs with perm, but then when the silver whingers started up i just went blow this and went up the back and stood in an aisle for 85 minutes.

Dibo, that first picture is perfect. All they have to do then is describe the ticket category properly. To be honest, the names "Category B" and "Cat B Mariners Supporters" have the potential to create just as much confusion. I know it sounds stupid, but the name "Rowdy, Standing Supporters" would actually convey the message properly.

Yep, very disappointing result. Its going to have to be something special at Bluetongue……. I can hardly wait!

BTW, I always stand at games but sat on Sunday because it suited the majority around me. Thats right, I didnt demand MY rights to the detriment of others.

Yeh, I had a family of 4 right behind me. They said they swapped tickets with someone because they couldn't stand the noise. Since I was taking my wife (who didn’t go in the end), I swapped my 4 seats in Bay 11 Row T with Wheresdadspants and Kevrenor which were in Bay 10 Row B. There were 3 seats in between those tickets and I naturally thought we could just swap seats so we’re all sitting together. For some reason, it wasn’t that simple.

The family turned up a few minutes before kickoff and the guy told me I was in his seat. I tried to explain to him that if he moved down two seats into my seat I could sit with my friends. He would not listen at all; he just wanted his family to sit in the seat numbers shown on his ticket that he just kept waving in my face. So, my friends and I stood up and let them sit in their allocated seats. Then, I pointed to the fact that I was sitting by myself and it would be good if his family could move down one seat. Then the dickhead said he didn’t want to move in that direction and that he would only move towards the half way line, so then everyone had to stand up and swap again. Wow, his view must have been so much better than mine! What a dickhead.

By the way, this is the same guy who, later on, totally lost his temper with the guys standing and waving the flags in Row A. He complained to the old grey haired security guard in front of us – the same security guard that copped the full beer cup from that guy that got thrown out by the police. A complete numbnut!

That guy that got thrown out by the police is a champion. If i see him around i should buy him a beer for his efforts. The security was pretty bad that game.

Lets hope we win 3-0 and bag out the baby shit colour team some more.

That was a friend of mine who got "escorted" out.
Whilst I don't find throwing a beer at security to be warranted or mature, I do agree that the security guard in question was picking on us the whole game - or at least that's how I'd like to see it.

I too was told to move from the seats I had I had taken up with Davo and Golden Boy, about 14 rows from the back. Even worse than some of the stories, I got punted by other singer/standers who showed up about 1 minute before kickoff.

Thankfully people further back allowed us to go 2-to-a-seat with them or we'd have been in the aisles too.

All the right things have been said about the ticketing already.

But someone hit the nail on the head when they said the FFA was more concerned with their bottom line with minimum fuss rather than catering for the passionate fans.

Also, as nice as it is to have people come on the forum all the time and say how much they love what the Marinators provide at games, it's clear that probably the majority of the 12k average who go to games have a pretty shit perception of the Marinators.

"Sing monkeys sing, dance monkeys dance! The Cove is here, sing louder you losers! You're letting your team down! Disgrace! Oh shit, now you're in my view, sit down and shut up!"

Once again, Brett has summed it up so concisely.

I fully appreciate that Brett, it's been a real surprise and disappointment to me read the utter shite and pathetic expectation from those who bask and soak, then whinge and bitch on here as it suits.  For what it's worth, as someone who doesn't sit in the bay, (and loves to Marinator praise ;D) everyone I know at the games, and all who sit around me, think the Marinators are brilliant. Take heart lads. You are much maligned, but you are also much loved and appreciated by those who have more than half a clue I'm sure. It's bitter a pill, but as the level of awareness gradually begins to penetrate the minds of these pickle heads, you guys will hopefully have to endure less and less of this kind of total crap. Another 3 more years, and everyone will pretty much get it I think. Then you guys should be able to put this kind of stupidity to bed once and for all and bask in the praise, support and atmosphere you deserve.

I was away for the game but as a parent with 3 kids (all under 10) there needs to be an areas where its designated seating and designated standing. Not sure why they don't open up the top of the stand for away supporters as seating only.

BTW - just because we need to have "SEATS" for our family doesn't mean we are not as passionate about the mariners as anyone else. FFS you should see us on any game day. You should have seen the tears in my 10 year olds eyes when we were ripped off by Breeze against Sydney. Fact is FFA need to work it better.

As far as the marinators go - we love the singing. I honestly don't believe that the majority of home fans think bad of you. In fact I wish there were more so you could shut the away fans up..... Keep going!!!

we may have to book block tickets for all finals games as we did in the season one grand final by negotiating with the FFA

this may well be the only forward IMO

the marinators bank account is slowly building and we have some contacts so there is scope to front up a few thousand for tickets

Thats what I was thinking Mick, just I was unsure the marinators could afford it, but if you can afford to buy out 16 or the equivalent away bay then do it and sell it back to standers I would keenly support that

484 x $25 = $12,100

then consider that it's actually 2 bays allocated this time - so make that $24,100.

eek!

It would actually come out to be cheaper because you could scope a limited number of concession tickets but that would be a lot of effort so I guess its either impractical or highly unlikely

I too got a horrible insight into how we are viewed by a significant number of other CCM supporters.

Right now, I am not feeling v reasonable about the way they behaved and will refrain from saying what I really think.

we have means and connections but not 24000

the most we would handle is 500 tickets and no concessions from a practical point of view, as per the grand final

What if people were prepared to pre pay so that the Marinators club already had the funds to block purchase??

Why are people saying we need a standing section and a sitting section? The whole stadium is a sitting section! They won't come out and officially designate seated areas as standing only, but just name those areas subtly like "supporters bay". A little too subtle for some I guess.

that might work as well

the problem is that it is often short notice

e.g. if we lose the semis the tickets for the finals go on sale the next day

ditto for grand final

maybe in future there could be a systen set up in conjunction with the club whereby the club trusts us to handle the resale of tickets that *they* block purchase on our behalf? or the club could do the sales direct through EFT/credit card to a designated account with distribution to be handled by the marinators (i.e: the marinators get a list of people to give tickets to based on who has paid)
