ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Different signs we could make but proberly will never!

I agree 100% with keensy.

I think Shield is going to get the picture we dont like him when 15 thousand mariners (and probably sydney) fans boo him as he exits the tunnel in round 2.

Some witty or funny banners could be good, dj came up with a good one I believe. I just dont see the point of red cards though.

And the committee wonders why its an uphill battle getting more people to participate in tifo at game days. Would it actually be a bad look for the marinators if a couple of hundred fans held up a red card at shield? Its about bringing ppl together in a common cause and looking like we're a united front. No matter what you think about the idea behind it, it would have looked pretty good at the game if it were organised.

But, once again, this forum cuts down another idea that could well have come to fruition with a bit of support and would have hurt no-one.

Umm, I am on the committee champ

And if you cast your memory back, there have been double sided yellow and red cards at mariners games before, and they failed epicly. Marinators didnt supply them, they were being given out by people on the gates. I think I saw 10 people in the bay hold them up, so im basing my opinion on past performance, and the fact I dont personally like the idea.

Im not trying to cut you or your ideas down, I dont think anybody is. You just seem to be taking offence to the fact not to many people like your idea.

that can still be done...and it can be done better, look better and at the same time not be dwelling on an incident months ago which cannot be changed

For once, I agree with Keensy (I feel dirty for doing so, but thems the way things is) - by your logic Bex, we'd have to bring them every week and hold them up at every single referee in the league, because I'm pretty sure at one point or another they've all f*cked us over......

You know, if I was to watch another supporters group hold up a bunch of red card, I might have a chuckle but I'd probably also think they're a bunch of wankers that a) don't have a clue and b) need to move on.  I just don't think this display would portray us very well.

Matches WILL be decided on refereeing errors.  It's a fact of the game.  Sometimes it's in our favour, sometimes it's against us - it's a pity it was such a major game.  I'm a little curious, Bex, as to why you feel such a strong need for some sort of anti-Shield demonstration?  (and no Bear, I'm not opposed to this because I'm a referee - James will testify to vocalarity of my finals refereeing opinions at those matches! :p)

Still, there is a practical aspect - when would we show the red cards?  It's not like the referees are announced and run out separately.

Personally I reckon a bay full of red cards would be awesome when an opponent hacks down one of our players, but I can't see that really happening.

I know you're the committee bear. I went to the last meeting and spoke to you.

I'm not offended (it would take a lot more than this) by any of this. I don't know how its coming across on these posts, but the care factor is pretty low at this end. I'm just keen to see something happen rather than nothing. Whether that be red cars or something else or a whole bunch of things is not that important to me. I just don't think its constructive to say something is a stupid idea unless that person has a better idea that they're actually willing to implement themselves.

It was months ago, he f**ked up, cant change it now, move on and focus the attention on this season.

FFS Keensy, you just don't take yes for an answer do you.

Bex said:
Yes, vukovic was wrong to strike the ref. Thats all been covered ad nauseum in other threads.

Covering something ad nauseum means there is no need to go over it again. Not sure why you're bringing it up in every post.

All I did was respond to Keensy when he said the red cards were a stupid idea. I don't necessarily think they're a brilliant idea or anything, I just made the point that there is no harm in letting others have ideas and implement them and that its not constructive to the Marinator's cause to call other people's ideas stupid.

"No one rates us we dont care" is the best idea.

Make that as big as you can ! Would be awesum.

Some whitte/smart comment on a 2 pole flag to get back at fozzie as well ?

One thing that could be good is everyone making a 1X1 M flag with either blue or yellow to hold up at the start of the game, on a windy day a whole bay of blue and yellow flags would look brilliant and a good change from the yellow streamers.

If we make a huge banner - debate on what is said on it, we can see if we can hang it up on the wall there at the top of bay 16.
