ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Didnt the club say that they have had offers for him from OS? Might be taking his mind off things.

Also, playing in front of that back 4 would make anyone nervy and goalkeeping is a lot about confidence.

Didnt worry bozza. Bozza knows he can build average players into good players by his sheer command of the area and organisational skills at the back

Not disagreeing that Bozza would command his area but both Tards and Roar scored two against him whilst he was here and the back 4 was shaky back then. Also I don't agree that a GK should be our Marquee (and I am a GK) - if Bozza would fit under the cap then no issues but not as a Marquee.
CCM have not had any Marquee player yet and the last one JA is still waiting for his money which he never earned anyway but at least with Bozza you also get the exposure which we had when he was there and he did fit under the cap then. The problem is we have no one who wants to ask him in case he said no even if they want him.

as far as i understand it, we're not screwed financially precisely because we haven't overspent on players etc. it's a close run thing though, whether spending will generate revenue or whether it will sink us...

if it was possible to get revenue up sustainably we could spend more. i'd rather that be through attracting investment and sponsorship than through taking games away from gosford (which is arguably not sustainable).

He was - he was the water boy in the first half. ;)

Was injured from the Kawasaki game. Nash did awesome in the second half and his distribution was incredible.

Talk on Foxsports FC last night was that Danny, Simon and Heff came back from the Socceroo camp unsettled and itching to go overseas.

Robbie Slater said you don't get overseas contracts by playing bad.

CENTRAL COAST goalkeeper Danny Vukovic has vowed to make amends for a career-worst run of performances when the Mariners meet Tianjin Teda in the Asian Champions League dead rubber in Gosford tonight.

Last in their group and without an ACL win to their name, the players are desperate to avoid further embarrassment against the Chinese - none more so than Vukovic, who admits his own form during the club's forgettable debut ACL campaign has left plenty to be desired.

"I'm a bit ashamed to say it but I'd be lying if I said this probably wasn't the worst form I've ever been in at the Mariners," Vukovic said yesterday. "Four years I've been here, and I can't remember when I've struggled like this, and it hurts to say that because I wanted to play so well in this campaign. It just hasn't gone right at all, so we're keen to at least finish on a winning note and put it behind us."

Asked why he's struggled, Vukovic was blunt: "To be honest I'm pretty tired. I haven't had a break in a long time. I had all those dramas with the Olympics ban last year, then a full A-League season and now the ACL. It's been really full on, and I'm not feeling 100 per cent, so it will be good to be refreshed again."

Vukovic is known for being a tough self-marker. But by the same token, after keeping a clean sheet in the Mariners' opening ACL clash against Pohang Steelers, he has conceded 12 goals in just four games.

Still, the 24-year old is aware he isn't the only Mariner to fall short of expectations, and is as frustrated as anyone at their inability to convert many generous opportunities.

"If you look back over this campaign, it's fair to say we are more than capable of cutting it with the best in Asia - but we just haven't been able to get to the line," he said. "Think back to the first Pohang game [0-0] and we had chances when we led 2-1 against Tianjin over there [before drawing 2-2] then in the last game [away to Pohang] we led 2-1 with 20 minutes to go [before losing 3-2].

"We're paying for that now, and we have to learn, which we will, and it will make us a better club."
