ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He was the yard stick for goal keepers in the first couple of seasons at the A-League and IMO was the reason we over achived but since his suspension he hasnt been the same player. He needs a sports shrink or something his mind is not on the job and I really miss his off the cuff play you had your heart in your mouth but nine times out of ten it would work out.

+1 people are quick to let rip at wilko/boogs/hutch etc but danny has been terrible for ages, why do people seem to think he is not worth criticism?

Sign up Bosnich, he fires everyone up and makes them play 110%

Remember when Porter reflexively ducked under that free kick that scored a goal, Bosnich let rip into him something harsh, Porter went on to have a great game and has improved ever since!

Not knocking his ability he has loads of potential but his mind seems to be elseware at the moment the two goals he let in on dont really do him any justice he is abetter player than that.

Didnt the club say that they have had offers for him from OS? Might be taking his mind off things.

Also, playing in front of that back 4 would make anyone nervy and goalkeeping is a lot about confidence.

I suppose it is inevitable to watch Danny more closely than other keepers, but I have never seen any other keeper as pointlessly beaten as often as Vukovich.

How many times is he standing flat footed watching the ball as it sails into the net.

The funny thing about Danny is that even when he was at his peak, he had a tendancy to make brilliant saves to stop the impossible shots, yet let the most basic stuff through.

He's good at staying on his feet and narrowing the angle if someone is clean through. He makes some good saves in that sort of situation.

But you very rarely see him flying through the air to tip a shot over or round the post. He's very slow to react. If it's not straight at him he stands still and ball watches.

I'll admit, in recent times, I haven't seen the quality from Danny that he used to show, but the descriptions above do not remind me of Danny at all. He has never let simple stuff in and I've seen him make plenty of diving saves.

Didnt worry bozza. Bozza knows he can build average players into good players by his sheer command of the area and organisational skills at the back

Maybe he has one too many girlfriends, lol  ;D ?
Or maybe he's worried that an os offer isn't going to happen & he'll be stuck as an A-League 'journeyman' instead of the rising star of Football in Australia, like he was heralded as a couple of years back.
Jess Van Stratten coming back to Australia, and probably getting good game time in the first team at GCU has got to worry him a bit too, as van Stratten will come into contention for the 'A-League Socceroos' squads if he impresses here.

Not disagreeing that Bozza would command his area but both Tards and Roar scored two against him whilst he was here and the back 4 was shaky back then. Also I don't agree that a GK should be our Marquee (and I am a GK) - if Bozza would fit under the cap then no issues but not as a Marquee.

I agree that danny hasn't been at his best recently. But for the people that are saying danny doesn't make any diving saves what about the game against newcastle when he made at least two diving saves and Nick Theodorakopolous was quoted as saying that they were superhuman.

I'm sorry I don't remember those saves, but I'll give Danny credit in that he has saved a lot of goals for the Mariners, but it seems it is more his organisational skills and command of the area that is coming under scrutiny. Plus, he does seem to save the impossible saves, but lets the most simplest ones in.

And if you are referencing Nick T. then that has to be a couple of seasons back, and quite frankly, no player in this squad can be comfortable that something brilliant they did two or more years ago, is going to keep them in the squad. We've had a few players living on past glories and hopes of potential being filled to date. Time to show it or go.

Was Nick T talking about his saves at Suncorp (the 1-0 Kwas corner goal)??

I remember Danny making some outstanding saves in that game
