ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not all noise is good noise, otherwise we could just get the Stadium to play this over the speakers

:D

Heh... At least their noise is human generated and "supporting" the team...
But then again, what makes you the arbiters of what is good noise?

Don't get me wrong, a little bit of devil's advocate here, but to be honest, there's a small part of me that thinks that, as long as they're not abusing anyone, be happy that someone other that us is supporting the team, rather than being annoyed that they say stupid stuff... God knows a football game seems to attract people who talk before they think, irrespective of these guys... May as well learn to live with it.
I mean, it's not like the chants are defining points in art history either ;)

Better? :D

A bit more seriously, you make a fair point, but a bit of whinging online won't hurt.

Maybe the people will learn a bit more about our style of play, the game in general, and that you don't have to be hoofing the ball up the field or scoring with every kick for it to be a good one as they get to a few more games.

LOVE IT!

Maybe we should have a chat to Pete about hooking that up to the new bullhorn, see if we can out-noise the RBB when we play them again...

But yes, I think there's that, give them time to learn... There's also that bit where people get excited and blurt out whatever to get stuff moving ;)

Not sure as I haven't tried to tune in for years. Which do you recommend?

I thought Grandstand might have decent commentators, but they have no idea what they're talking about and depends on whose commentating they might throw in AFL/NRL terms constantly. At least with CoastFM there is a Central Coast focus which is good for us, plus they show some proper enthusiasm, so I'd pick them.

The one time I listened to the ABC grandstand (can't stream coast fm at work, and since we were playing the roar it was live on local abc radio up here) they had Lawrie as a commentator. I was probably one of a handful of people in Qld that could have understood that commentary.
