ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Had one near us that kept going "oh no... oh why are you doing that... oh they're going to score now..." etc.

Wow so relate to this, I have a season ticket so am stuck next to this moron who yells inanities for the duration of the match. yells abuse at the ref and quotes incorrect rules. I've remained silent to date but as she works herself into a frenzy and starts swearing, with a set of gorgeous 8 or 9 year old twins sitting in front of us, can't last too much longer.

As Mark Twain said "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

. i am not sure how to take these comments ... has it taken you 9 years to finally become frustrated enough to post these comments ... or are you only starting to hear them now ... or has your own reading of the game developed so that it has only bothered you recently ;)

. the biggest frustration for me is the constant calls of 'FORWARD!' - when the guy with the ball has two opposition players in front of him and the only other guy in yellow further 'forward' is 50 metres away and surrounded by 4 of the opposition ... it's like yelling out: 'give the ball away!'

I used to have primo seats on half way in Bay 38 until the guy in front of me and the lady beside me eventually wore me down and we had to move to Bay 39.
He would yell at Maty for being too far away from his goal when he was playing a sweeper role and similar to BK's comment, he would continually yell at the team if we passed the ball backwards. She would yell at Maty to pick the ball up and not waste time... when we were leading by a goal with minutes to go. It was real face palm stuff.

I didn't think it was my place to argue with them because they have paid their money and can express their views... no matter how misguided. If they were swearing, then that would have been a different matter I suppose. Anyway, I took the cowards way out and moved seats. It has been a bit of a blessing in disguise because the people around us now actually discuss the game in a sensible and knowledgable way, and when we concede a foul, more often than not, we accept it because it was correct call. My previous neighbours would berate the ref, no matter what the circumstances. Very frustrating.

As a matter of context, I grew up going to games at Craven Cottage where (as you might expect) nearly everyone had grown up with the game.

Bloke near us, every time we got the ball anywhere on the pitch would scream "give it to Ivor" (our then star striker) didn't matter if the ball was near our corner flag.

It's annoying and you just live with it.

I have on occasion voiced my opinion of my fellow spectators. .... with mixed results

I am close to throwing something at a fellow supporter sitting near me.
She constantly screams out every game inane suggestions such as "get him", "get it out of there" (ie clear it instead of playing the ball out from the back), "run!", "Go!" "You are going the wrong way" (when we pass backwards to maintain possession). These insightful suggestions have their place at an U9 G game but are driving be crazy :).
Her passion for the team is commendable but the screaming ignorance is not.
Any suggestions apart from throwing something at this person? (Moving seats is a problem as we have some good ones).
amusing thread. I nearly piped up and said I think I know who you're talking about - then read on and now realise the crowd is full of them
probably best to see it as an entertaining side show sketch rather than a nuisance

I noticed that a lot of the people in the gold seats last night are loyal supporters but many of them haven't a clue about Football......nothing new for the prawn sandwich brigade I suppose.
Still fun to sit with Gumps, O'grady etc and to see the Ando and Fitzgerald (mum is a Milf btw) hovering about.
I prefer bay 16 or 17 myself for future games.....plus lost us 5 or 6 peeps for the game coz couldn't tell em to come and not sit with them

Just be happy we have supporters. We can't turn on each other especially now.

A lot of people are not up with the details of the game but they still support even if misguided. Out town out Team stuff. It's a a night out for everyone.

Just like we argue over who should be in the team & how it should be setup we have differences of opinions. Maybe a gentle they are doing because of this etc & see what response you get. Ohh ok I get it or shove it mate. Then decide to move.

My wife new bugger all - Gets fired up - maybe a little over the top sometimes & I try to explain it to her & it helps.

or try the old great pass that's the stuff guys move the ball around draw the defense to sort of show em up.

If not just move but good chance there could be someone worse where you move to

or

Drink more - The club will be happy if your not

Can imagine what they would start yelling if cheese guy was in the stands... "oh no... why are you throwing that cheese... that doesn't go with my wine... this cheese has been cut the wrong way... why don't you throw some biscuits with it..." etc.

Not all noise is good noise, otherwise we could just get the Stadium to play this over the speakers
